"No. Formal wear." I said shifting the phone to my other ear as I fixed my make up. "Alright. I'll be there at 6. What are you wearing?" My best friend Lilly said. "Clothes." I said. "Bitch, seriously." She said. "It's a strapless floor length deep purple gown. Diamonds studding the top." I said. "It'll match your hair." She laughed. "You know how hard it was for me to not get the red one because of my hair?" I said and she laughed again. "Well you shouldn't have dyed it a deep blackish purple." She said. "Well, it looks good." I said. "True. But I need to get ready. It's 5:30." She said. "Alright. I'll see you shortly." I said. I hung up and did one last quick check on my make up. I checked the time on my phone. 5:55. Fuck.
I walked down the stairs. I was throwing it in my father's mansion. It was more of a ball than a party. It was called The Thayer Ball. He always wanted an annual ball thrown for the metal and rock bands. Hundreds of bands were already here. I weaved through the crowd to the doors. "Miss. Thayer, there's a band here that wasn't on-" I cut off Sean. "Where they at?" I asked. "The front doors." He said. I nodded and begun my way there. It was Peirce the Veil. "I'm dearly sorry about that. Sean apparently didn't listen when I said no guest lists." I said. "Mistakes happen." One of the band members said. I let them in and took the list from Sean. I held it in front of him and ripped it in half. "I just texted you yesterday saying no lists Sean. I understand new girlfriend and all but really. Please try to check your phone more often." I said softly. He was new. I wasn't gonna be hard on him. "I'm sorry-" I cut him off. "It's okay. It happens." I said and he visibly relaxed that I wasn't going to fire him or chew him a new ass. "Go have fun." I told him and he smiled.
I seen Lilly and she waved to me. She was hyper. I grinned at her. I walked onto the stage and to the podium. Everyone stopped and looked at me. "Some of you have never been to this ball till tonight. Some of you are probably thinking what's this chick doing up there talking as if she knows what she's doing. But as most of you know, my father, Tommy Thayer was the lead guitarist of the band KISS. He was always talking about an annual ball being thrown for bands of rock, metal, scream, etc. He's been gone for 3 years now. This is his 3rd annual ball. Most of society try to label us as freaks. Weridos. But not here. Here We are our own society." I said and everyone erupted into cheers and one scream "He was the legend of rock!" I smiled. "He was a great guitarist. As he was a great man. My mother will be unable to attend anymore of the Thayer Balls. Tonight and tomorrow night is to honor him and the music world. So please. Everyone, have some drinks. Dance. Enjoy yourselves." I said.
Lilly ran over to me once I got off stage. "Come on. I need your guy advice." She said. I rolled my eyes. She took my hand and led me over somewhere we're we could see the guy. "Okay, his in a black tux with a cowboy hat. Cowboy boots to." She said. I glanced and seen him. The way he fidgeted. Shy. Only talking to a few. "He's shy. I'd go as far of saying sweet. But you can tell he's more of a hit it and quit it." I said. "He's Ashley Purdy. The bassist from Black Veil Brides." I said. She grinned. "I'm a hit it and quit it girl." She said. I laughed. "I know you are." I said and she kissed my cheek before walking over to him. I looked up to see one of my assistants waving me over. I walked over. "What's up?" I asked. "Got a letter in. From your mother." He said. He handed it to me. "Thank you." I said. He nodded in reply and I scanned the crowd for spot that wasn't crowded. I found one and begun making my way to it. Then someone bumped into me. Causing my letter to slip from my hands. "Are you okay?" A tall guy with piercing blue eyes and black hair that was cut kinda short asked. "Yes." I said. He bent down and handed me my letter. "I'm so sorry. My drummer, CC, was messing around and-" I cut off his rambling. "It's okay. Really." I said. "At least let me buy you a drink." He said. I shook my head smiling. "Alright. One." I said. He grinned at me.
Andy's POV
"Hey, deep purple gown. Making her way through here." CC said. "Just because I was-" He pushed me into her. Causing a envelope to slip from her hands. She was about 5'6. Beautiful. "Are you okay?" I asked. She looked up me. Her eyes were a mix of green and amber. Captivating. "Yes." She said. I bent down and got her letter and handed it to her. "I'm so sorry. My drummer, CC, was messing around and-" She cut me off. "It's okay. Really." She said. "At least let me buy you a drink." I said. She shook her head with a beautiful smile. "Alright. One." She said and I grinned. She allowed me to led her to the bar. "What's your poison?" I asked. "Jack Daniels." She said. I rose an eyebrow. "Alright then." I said. "A glass of Jack." I told the bartender. He seen her and grinned. "My Miss. Scarlett every single year you some how change your hair and find a dress to match." He said. "It's a gift." She said. "It's on the house for you sir." He said to me. "Wait, your Scarlett Thayer?" I said. She nodded. "The one and only." She said and I took a sip of my whiskey. She held hers. "You know, my friend basically sister has took a liking to Ashley over there." She said nodding her head towards my bassist. A tall black haired girl with red tips wearing a light red dress was talking to him and she placed a hand on his bicep. "Hope she don't get hurt." I said frowning. "She won't." Scarlett said. "How can you be so sure?" I asked. "She came to me earlier. Showed me who he was. He was fidgeting when he got here. Clearly what shy people tend to do. He's a hit it and quit it type. So is she." She said watching her friend. Her eyes held a sense of protectiveness over her friend.
