I bolted awake, gasping for air. Just a bad dream. My long black hair fell onto my pale face as I stood up out of my bed. I looked over to the second bed in this room and saw that nobody was there. I quickly and quietly got changed out of my grey pyjamas into the school uniform. Which consisted of a white blouse, a short black skirt and a cardigan, along with white tights. I didn't like the school uniform, mostly because it was unnecessary and I didn't like skirts but I didn't get an option to whether or not I could wear it.

After I got changed I checked which lessons I had for today, Appearance, skills, history and worlds. I had no idea how I was going to survive, just the thought of going to lesson gave me a stomach ache. I opened my bedroom door into the hallway, already other girls and boys were walking to lesson, it was only 8:15 and lesson didn't start until 8:30. I noticed how each one of them had something vividly different or unusual about them, but I couldn't pin point what it was so I just shrugged off the thought and walked behind everyone else to lesson.

Eventually, after twenty minutes of aimlessly walking around the school, I arrived at lesson one. Appearance. The room was full of wooden desks which had mirrors lay down on them and chairs that looked extremely comfortable. The walls were painted purple and at the front of the room there was a chalk board hung up on the wall.

"You're late!" My eyes darted over to look at the angry professor who was staring right at me, standing in the door way.

"S-sorry I got lost." I said.

"Stand with the rest of the students! And call me Professor Muggen, young lady!" His voice was stern and grumpy. He had grey hair and wore a white long sleeved T shirt, black suit pants and a green trench coat.

I looked around the rest of the room to see that nobody had sat down, everyone was just standing at one side of the classroom. So I walked over carefully and stood with the other students.

"Alright, now that everyone is here we can begin! I have made a seating plan, that is why you are all standing up and not sitting down!!" The professor yelled.

He began to yell out names for who was sitting where. I noticed my roommate was in this class when he called out "Dixie!" And the same red haired girl who was crying last night sat down at the front. More names were called out, "Amber!" "Skye!" "Blue!" "Milo!" I heard my name and hurried over to sit where I was told. I was right at the back next to a small, cute brown haired boy and a tall, tanned blonde boy.

"What's your name? I'm milo!" I looked at the brown haired boy to my right once I sat down.

"I'm Blue." I told him.

"That's a funny name" he started laughing "That's a colour." He laughed and laughed until the blonde boy to my left barged in.

"Hey don't bully her, milo, she's new." I turned my head to face him. "Hello, I'm Skye." He said with a side smile. "You're blue, my sister is your roommate." He had a deep voice and was very handsome.

"Yeah. Has she got red hair and tall?" I asked

"Yep."

I nodded as milo continued speaking after he caught his breath and stopped laughing.

"Skye stop, she's my friend." He begged with puppy dog eyes.

"Oh shut up milo." Skye responded

"STOP TALKING AND GET ON WITH YOUR WORK!!"

I jumped up, and realised I hadn't been paying attention at all.

"Shit." I said to myself. I looked forward to the chalk board which said I had to describe myself.

"Why should we do that?" Skye asked with a whispery voice.

I shrugged then looked down at my paper then up at all the other students writing away. How could I describe myself? I don't know how I seem to other people. I finally wrote down a few sentences after a long thinking process,

"I like cats and I use to live in Retfoos." Retfoos was a city which was for people without any abilities. This school was in Wanzero which was a place full of magic, I didn't belong here. The rest of the lesson went by fast, at the end Skye invited me to a party which was tomorrow night. I told him I'd think about it.

Skye wasn't in any of my other lessons but milo was so at least I wasn't completely alone for the rest of the day. Lesson two was extremely shitty, everyone was showing off their skills but I didn't have any so when I had to do something I just got humiliated. I did learn that milo could talk to animals and my roommate Dixie could set things on fire so I knew not to get on her bad side. Then there was a break and I spent that by myself on the brink of tears. Lesson three and four were a blur, I can barely remember any of it.

The school day ended at 5pm and I went back up to my room while almost everyone else was going out to shop or party or something fun. After two lonely hours of just reading on my bed, my door opened and in walked Dixie and another girl who I hadn't seen before.

"Heyyy." A cute freckled girl with bubble gum pink hair looked over at me and waved.

I smiled, "Hello."

She dived onto Dixies bed and started giggling like a little girl.

"Why you here?" I looked up to see Dixie glaring at me with red eyes that matched her hair.

"Oh um I got no where else to go." My smile faded.

"Well find somewhere else to go because you can't stay here tonight!"

I began to feel sick, where was I to go?

"Aww please let her stay, Dixie. She won't tell anyone." The cute one said

"No, she's not staying, Lola." Dixies voice sounded really concerned and was shaky.

I stood up and nodded, "it's fine I'll just go, when can I come back?" I thought I was going to pass out right there, what was i doing? Where would I go?

"Tomorrow morning, sorry but this is important."

I grabbed my little satchel which had four rubies, an apple and a drink. I walked out into the hallway and immediately started trying to find a way out of the school. People were allowed to go out side of the school as long as they were in before 10pm. The gates opened in the morning and closed at night. I decided to go out even just for a little bit so at least I was doing something.

Finally I got to the huge, open front gate. I took a deep breath before slowly stepping outside, onto the busy city streets.
