A few months had passed since the papers had arrived. A court date had been set for the next few months. It was getting closer to Amelia due date. She could have the baby any day. Matt was trying to have the house ready for his son's arrival. Snowbird was just starting to show and their relationship had been getting stronger each and every day. Lacy was still on bed rest as usual and Noah was to keep a close eye on her. He would check on her every hour of the day.
Noah POV
It was an end to a long day. I had been to the junkyard and found different items for future projects. It was getting hotter as the day progressed. Grace and Lacy said that in the South in the next few months the heat could get as high as over 100 degrees. The highest it has ever gotten here was maybe 70. That is hot for Alaska. I was bringing my wife her dinner and to settle in for the night. I had cleaned up in the creek. I sat in bed next to her reading my book. "You know, our son will be here soon and he doesn't have a name yet." "What did you have in mind?" "I like the name Jacob." "Then everyone would call him Jake." "Then what do you want to call him?" "Edward" "I actually like that name." "We could do Edward Jacob Brown and call him EJ." "Can we please not have the name Jacob?" "Jacob is a cute name." "We could use the name Billy. Edward Bill Brown." "You would name our son after my father and his grandfather?" I had started tearing up at the thought. At this point I had fallen more in love with her. I took the side of her face in my hand and kissed her. "I fall more in love with you every day. You didn't have to do that." "I want him to know is named after his grandfather and great grandfather."
Amelia POV
The boys were doing their normal chores for the day. Bam had taken the crab pot out to the water, Gabe was chopping wood, Noah was working in his lab, and Bear was being himself. Matt was building a bigger bed for Isabella and Nathan was going to get the crib we used with Isabella. I could hear the chainsaw that Matt was using. I put on my usual plaid shirt and jeans. I didn't have my boots on but I walk out onto the porch to see him hard at work. I could see across the way that Billy was sitting with the mayor of Hoonah. He might have come out to see how much had changed. I had only met him once during a hauling job. They shook hands as he called the family in for a meeting. I grabbed my boots as Matt took my hand and led me to a bench. I him on my left and Rainy on my right. "The mayor has offered us a job to do in town. He wants us to clean a beach for the community and we could take anything we wanted. I told him would head out after lunch. I thought that Bam, Rainy, Bear, Birdy, Gabe, and Matt could take the job." "I don't feel safe leaving Amelia this close to her due date." "I think he will stay for a few more days. I haven't had any signs of being in labor. I'll be fine." "There is a lot of help here if she were to go into labor. We are prepared for anything." I felt Matt put his hand on my leg. I take his hand to reassure him. I could see the worry in his eyes as he looked at me. The family prepares to leave as they made their way to the Integrity. Billy went along to look at the skiff that had been promised to them.
Bam POV
I leaned out of the door on the boat talking to Gabe. "Are we ready?" "Go ahead." We were off as I started the engine. The entire time I could hear Rainy taking to Birdy about the baby. "I love being an aunt. I was also thinking about getting my own place." "Rain, you only sixteen." "I know but I just feel that I could give mom and dad a bigger place to themselves." "It's not like I am wanting to get married." Then I spoke up. "If I have any say, you will not be getting married until I approve of this man." Blaine came over to sit next to Birdy as the conversation continued. I knew he had to make a few deliveries to town. Bear and Gabe helped me dock as the family got off. Matt, dad, and I went to check out the skiff and everyone else was going to check the site.
Blaine POV
I was going to make my deliveries and then help the family after I had finished. I make my last delivery and make my way to the beach we were clearing. I see Lily and I walk the opposite direction but then I hear my name. I turned to look at her and then my worst nightmare was realized. She is pregnant. "You haven't been in town and I need to tell you that you're going to be a dad." "Are you sure that it is mine?" "I had it checked but I want to go down to the clinic with you so you didn't think I was lying to you." "Can you go now?" "Yes" We make our way to the clinic as we got checked in. A nurse takes us back and administer the test. "It will take about thirty minutes to know the results." I have to sit out in the waiting room with her. The nurse came out meet us as she handed me the result. I scan it over and it is mine. The nurse walks away. "How far along are you?" "I am six months. My due date is 4th of July." Birdy was due at the end of July. I can't believe I was so stupid. "I want you be a part of this baby's life." "I wouldn't have it any other way." We left and went our separate ways.
