Tiptoeing towards the door Bianca looks behind her precariously.
Seeing nothing in the dim litted room, she makes way to the door.
Cold metal caresses her palm. And just as she were about to twist her wrist to maneuver the panel in the lock, a cough interrupts.
Bianca twirls around swiftly. Her green eyes meet a dark figure in the dark.
She glances toward the now open window, it shone through the glass and showed the seated woman.
"Where are you going?" She asks from her grandmother's couch.
Bianca lowers her head down in respect.
"Nowhere, Miss Jasmine." Bianca says in a quiet voice.
Miss Jasmine came out the shadows and flicks on a light, revealing herself to Bianca.
Bianca looked up at the tall woman who had her bony arms crossed over her chest.
The woman stared Bianca down like all adults do.
In that same condescending way that she's grown used to.
What with being passed on from parent to parent she was surrounded by disappointment.
Disappointed glares aimed at her and disappointed teachers giving her grade and the disappointed look on her father's face when he put her up for adoption.
Yeah, she was used to it. So one extra one didn't have much of an effect on her.
"Young lady, it's high time you went to bed. Now stop causing trouble and go to sleep. School is tomorrow. It's your first day you should feel happy." She says.
Happy? Sure. I feel happy when I leave this place, but I'll only be greeted by yet another piece of torture for nine hours. Education.
