Jake's Pov
It's my first day at my new high school and it's the middle of October . I'm very nervous because I've always seen the new kids get picked on at my old school. I slip on my black jeans, black Adidas shirt, and my white Adidas. I grab my sunglasses and car keys and head to my black Prius. I love the color black.
On the drive to school, I notice a lot of couples walking towards school. I haven't experienced that feeling since Kacie. "Enough of that," I tell my self. I park at the school. Before I leave my car, I put my shades on. I used to wear them all the time at school. They're kind of like my good luck charm.
While I walk towards the school building, I see a lot of people staring at me. Most of them are looking at me like I'm fresh meat. Suddenly, a muscular dude walks up to me and offers a hand shake.
"Hi, I'm Kyle, " he said as I shake his hand.
"I'm Jake. Nice to meet you. I'm new here."
"I figured. I can show you around if you want."
"Thanks, I would really appreciate it."
"Okay, lets go. We need to go to the office to get your timetable."
I follow him down the halls crowded with student who are also staring at me. After I got my stuff, Kyle dropped me off at my locker. I got all the stuff I needed for the first 2 classes. When I closed my locker, I saw none other than my ex, Kacie.
"What are you doing here?" I asked.
"I could ask you the same thing," she said.
"This is my locker."
"You couldn't get enough of me so you followed me here? Pathetic."
"My mom got a promotion here." I said, before I realized she was gone already. Darn! Why did she have to be here?
I stepped into my first period class 5 minutes be fore the bell was supposed to ring. I pick a seat all the way in the back of the classroom. I watch as the classroom quickly fills up. Kyle ends up sitting next to me. The seat to my right is still empty when class starts.
20 minutes into class girl bursts into the classroom. She is the most beautiful girl I have ever seen. She is wearing shades, which is weird because a teacher told me to take mine of in the hallway. She sits next to me since it is the only open seat. I suddenly realize that she is wearing the exact same outfit as me. I think the whole class sees it to because they are all staring at us.
"Attention!" Mr. Bennett yells. The class gets back to listening to his lecture.
"Hi, I'm Jake," I whisper to the girl.
"My name's Rose," she says. That's a pretty name.
"Thank you," she says, blushing. Shit! I said that out loud?
"Yes you did," she said, snickering.
"I've gotten off on the wrong foot haven't I?"
"It was fine until you cursed."
"I'm sorry ."
"It's okay."
"Go-"
"Mr. Renolds and Ms. Jeffery, do you have something to share with the class?" the Mr. Bennett scolded.
Before I could respond, Rose stood on her desk and made a response of her own.
"We are having a baby!" The whole class laughed at her remark as I sunk down in my chair.
" Stop that nonsense! Rose, sit down." the teacher said.
"No Mr. Bennett, I want to tell you how we made lo-" She was cut off by Kyle covering her mouth. He pulled her down and put her in her seat.
"Rose and Jake you have detention!" Mr. Bennett yelled.
What?! All I did was talk in class. This it the worst first day ever!
