But You

This is actually...I think the first happy poem I have written, unless you count Pity you as Happy? I dunno. Anyway, this was written with the help of my amazing girlfriend, who when I first showed her the first draft and explained it, she said I thought it was about me?.

I wasn't getting anywhere with that draft, so I was like, well lets make it about you.

 But You,

The light from my phone illuminates my face,

It's 2 am,

This, this is normal for me.

Being awake with only the moon as company.

But tonight, I have another person with me.

A little picture and a whole lot of message boxes.

With every word you type, I cannot help but smile.

Because it's you.

And with each new word, you start to weave a story in my brain.

Of how in a few years, it won't be message boxes anymore.

I won't strain my eyes trying to read your messages.

Maybe this is the reason my eyes sight has got worse.

Because it won't be a phone screen next to me.

But you.

And instead of weaving stories, we will be living them.

You've reached the end of published parts.
