(pic of Macawi above)
I walked along the camp path which lead to the borders, where Macawi was. As I was walking the moment where I had spoken to Alastar kept replaying in my mind. Naming Ceremony? I'm way past puppy hood so it would be really awkward. And I haven't seen most of those wolves in years . Why would I even go back? "Shakina! Come on you slow poke!" barked Macawi interrupting my thoughts. Uh yeah I'm coming Macawi, I howled. When I finally reached her she was staring intently at a man. A man and his tribe of what looked like 5 or 6 it seemed like. Go get the cheif, I snarled at Macawi. Shouldn't he already be---- Go! Hurry up! Macawi started running down the path and I was left with the men. There was a scilence, then one man finally spoke. Look John, a wolf! She'd be a pretty good sale don't you think? The other man nodded and said Indeed Chris, she's a very beautiful animal. But I doubt she'd let us catch her. Don't you think boys? Yes that's true, said the other men. I heard footsteps approaching behind me and I turned my head around. Thankfully it was the Cheif and Macawi, and also some warriors. Shakina, release said the cheif. I stopped staring at the men and walked over to Macawi. So what was with that wolf in the rocks back there? You seemed like you weren't happy to see him, Macawi barked. I wirhled around to face her almost instantly. What? You saw that? I growled. Yeah while I was waiting for you. Macawi barked. After a little while I realized you weren't following me so I walked back a bit to wait for you. And I saw you talking to another wolf, Macawi continued. So I just watched because I didn't want to get in the way. So, who was it? I sighed, that was my brother. Oh really? Cool! yipped Macawi. What's his name? Alastar, I sighed. He's my younger brother from back when I was in my pack. Before I came here. Before I started to speak again I was interrupted by the cheif arguing with the other men. We want some fresh land for hunting! said the other men. Cheif exclaimed, I sense bad things in you, you stick with your huge acres and let us keep what land we have left! The men just looked at each other for a moment and were silent. Then the one who was called John spoke, "Fair enough sir we didn't mean to cause cause any problems we apologize". The others nodded and then they started off. As they were walking off Cheif saw a document that said POACHER SIGNATURE HERE and apparently it made Cheif more upset then he was so I growled too. Macawi was upset and I asked her if she knew what that meant. She said "Yes..... That was a poacher. They kill animals that are not allowed to be killed and sell their fur or anything else valuable from them for money." I was shocked and suddenly realized that my family was vulnerable to people like poachers. I'm sure that my father could take care of that, he's the wisest wolf I know. At the thought of that I suddenly began to miss him and the rest of my family. But by the time I wrapped my mind around the thought of that we had arrived at the camp.
