7: I love you

I heard water. like a shower or bath just turned on coming from behind me. I could feel the vibration through my body. I heard a little squeak as the door slowly opened to Natsu's bedroom. then a *click* as the bedroom door shut again. then I heard slow footsteps coming closer and closer to the closet I was imprisoned in. the door nob to the closet door started to move a little bit. then it did a 360 as the door opened. my first sight was Natsu. a little pink in the face and looking down at the ground. I could see marks all over him, at least on his waist up where his bare body has no clothes. I stood in shock at the sight of his mistreated body.

"Gray, I'm sorry it took so long--" I didn't let him finish his sentence. I wanted to make him feel safe. considering what he just went through. I wanted to protect him and hold him close. he was shaking and looked like a scared baby animal. he started crying, not able to stop. I love him. I love him so much. I didn't realize I was thinking out loud

"Natsu, I love you" I could feel my face immediately flush and butterflies in my stomach when I heard what came out of his mouth

"I love you too"
I knew it. he didn't feel the same way. wait WHAT?!? he buried his face into my chest and grabbed my shirt. he soon lifted his head

"I'm sorry but you should leave, before my father gets out. he will be out soon."

"Okay.. but will you be okay here?"

"I should be fine, I think."

"Come over. at least for a few nights. that way I know you will be safe."

"I don't know.."

"Baby please.."

"Okay, I will grab my things. looks like your going to have to deal with me for a while"

"You make it sound like a bad thing. I love being with you."

"Will your parents be okay with me staying over?"

"Well I don't have a father. It's just me and my mom. but she will be fine with it. she wants me to make friends anyways."

"Alright, let's go"

Natsu picked up a bag of clothes he packed, a charger and a blanket. I grabbed his pillow and favorite stuffed animal which was a red fire breathing dragon. and we made our way out the door. leaving behind that horrible memory that just occured.

The walk would only take us about an hour. my house was only five or six miles from his. on our way back I happened to look down. well at least I got distracted by Natsu's hands. they were slim and boney. but not to boney, just right. his skin was a beautiful tone. I suddenly got the urge to hold his hand. but don't couples only hold each others hands? well we did just confess.. so could we be a couple? no.. but fuck it Imma hold his hand. weather he likes it or not. well I hope he likes it.. I slowly brought my hand to his. no,I wanted to do something fun and funny. to brighten up the mood a little bit

"Hey Natsu"

"Hmm, yes Gray?"

"Can you hold this for me" I brought my hand above his, clinching it so I looked like I was holding something.

"Yeah sure," Natsu brought up his hand to meet mine. altought I didn't put anything in hand. in fact I put my hand in his. interweaving our fingers.

"What did you want me hold?"

"My hand. it's too heavy for me to carry on my own, care to help me?"

"You dork, you could have just held my hand. you didn't need to say something cheesy like that"

"hehe too late"
we walked down the side walk. hand In hand. listening to the wind as it would blow past us. we walked like this until we got home. under the star set sky. I didn't want it to end. it was perfect
