Not Feeling It

-Khayla POV-

 *The Next Day*

Its Wednesday night and Jacob's mom, Latitia, invited my family and Jasmine's family over for dinner. Ericka walked into my room as I was slowly getting ready. "What's taking you so long" she asked plopping onto my bed. "I don't feel like going" I said rolling my eyes. "I thought you loved going to Jacob's house" she said. "I do but just not today" I said turning around from the body mirror to look at her. "And why not" she asked with a little smirk her on face. "No reason Ericka! I'll be ready in five" I told her pulling her up from my bed. "Huh uh sure whatever you say" she said not believing me. She walked out of my room closing the door behind her. I sighed and walked over to the mirror looking at myself again.  I grabbed my phone and car keys and made walked out of my room."Come on y'all I'm ready" I shouted for Ericka and my mom to get out of the kitchen.  They made their way out but Ericka is eating a cookie. "You know we are eating at the house right" I asked her. "Yeah but I'm hungry now" she said shrugging. I checked the time on my phone- 7:00. "We have fifteen minutes" I said as we made our way out of the house. We got into my car and I adjusted everything before starting my car. This dinner is going to be awkward I thought pulling out of the driveway. 

 -Arrival-

I pulled into the Latimore's driveway and turned the engine off. Mom got out of the car leaving me and Ericka. "So are you gonna get out of the car" Ericka asked. "I will soon, you can go without me" I told her. She nodded and got out of the car slamming the door closed. I sighed and put my head against the head rest. I closed my eyes "I hope this go well" I said and got out of the car. I made my way up the steps and before I could ring the bell the door swung opened. "Uh hi Jacob" I said making my way into the house. "Hi" he said with a little smile and opened his arms for me. I gave him a hug Hm he smells good I thought. We released each other and stood there. "You look nice" I said with a little smile on my face. "Thanks and you look good too" he said closing the door. "Is Jasmine here yet" I asked. "Nah not yet" he said as we made our way to the dinning room. "Smells good in here" I said. Latitia walked into the dinning room with a big smile on her face and holding pot roast. "Hi Ms.Taylor" I said and then gave her hug. "Hi sweetie! Khayla how many times are we gonna go through this" she said pinching my nose. I laughed "Sorry" I said taking a seat around the table.The door bell rang "Be right back" Jacob said getting up. "Still think this dinner is gonna be awkward" Ericka asked leaning over to me. "Not if I keep my feelings bottled up" I told her and she rolled her eyes. Jacob walked back into the dinning room with Jasmine and her parents. "Hi everyone" Jasmine said greeting everyone. "Hi Khayla baby" Jasmine said hugging me. I faked smile and hugged her back. "Dinner is served" Latitia said walking into the dinning room again. 

 -1 hour Later-

I was the first one to be finished eating. "Excuse me" I said grabbing my stuff and heading towards the kitchen. I placed my dish in the sink and jumped when I heard Jacob say my name. He laughed "Didn't mean to scare you" he said placing his dish into the sink. "Its aight" I told him walking away. He grabbed my wrist spinning me around to him. "Are you okay? I mean you've been acting funny" he said letting go of my wrist. No I haven't been okay I thought "Yeah I'm good" I lied. "Khayla you know you can't lie to me" he said not believing me. I smiled a little "Is that a smile I see" he asked smiling. "No" I said smiling a little more. He pulled me closer to him and our lips are inches apart. My eyes are flicking from his lips to his eyes but then Jasmine walks in. We pull apart from each other and I turn around. "Was I interrupting something" she asked. Yes I thought rolling my eyes. "Nah you good" Jacob said and I looked at him. Jasmine put her dish in the sink also and stood in front of us. "So what do y'all wanna do now" she asked. To finish what Jay and I were about to do earlier I thought "Doesn't matter" I said shrugging. "Let's go up to my room and play some games" Jacob suggested. "Sounds good to me" Jasmine said spinning on her heels and walking out of the kitchen. Jacob followed behind her "Sorry" he lip said and I nodded. Me too I thought and followed behind him
