Chapter 24: How I Met Your Mother
"So... was it awesome or super awesome?" asked Robin, looking at my green eyes.
I stared into her eyes. "It was legen... wait for it..."
"Dary!"
"Legendary!" we said together.
"You know what kinda sucks?" she said.
"What?"
"That your name's not Ted. So we'll never end up together."
I rolled my eyes. "That doesn't mean I won't try."
She stretched her arms out, yawning.
"What time is it?" she asked.
I glanced at my watch. "Um... A little around 2 in the morning."
"Oh crap!" she yelled. "2 am?! Oh God! Your mom must be worried!"
"Nah." I said, calm as ever. "I asked her if I could stay over and she said yes."
"Oh..." she said, calming down. She sighed. "See, this is why it would never work if we're a couple."
"Why...?"
"Cause you're supposed to tell me before you do it. Geez, you're such a Barney." she said.
"Oh... So that means you'll never be my girlfriend?" I asked, disappointed.
She nodded.
"Well, I'm certainly not giving up just cause I'm Barney and you're Robin."
"Okay."

I slid under the sleeping bag Robin had graciously provided.
Provode? Provided.
"Is it weird I know what sex is at the age of 11?" asked Robin as she turned the lights off.
"Um... I guess not." I replied.
"Do you?"
"Thanks to you, yes."
"Oh... I'm sorry." she apologized.
"Nah, it's fine." I said. "It saved my mom giving me 'the talk'."
"Uh... your welcome...?"
It was silent.
Well, except for the sound of Robin, squirming around, trying to find a comfy position on her bed.
...
...
...
"Thanks for watching How I Met Your Mother with me. Some people, well a lot of people, would be shocked that I understood everything in the show."
I listened.
"They say I'm too... perverted for such a young age... and tell you the truth, I think Avery set me up."
I still listened.
"But it's my favorite show and I don't really care what others think."
Still listening.
"So when you agreed to watch it with me, I was over the moon. I mean, your best friend loving the show you love? That's the dream."
Wow, listening is fun.
"So thanks again, stupid." she joked.
I grinned. "My pleasure, Rob."
