Now before I start this chapter, I would like to talk about a few things.

First off, as most of you are or should be aware, I'm currently doing my exams so I can get into college. That is my main priority at the moment  so the constant demands of telling me to update aren't helping at all.

Writing should be fun not stressful. I'm writing this book for fun but if you just want a new update every single day then I'm sorry but I also have a social life which I can't even have until all this school stuff blows over.

I'm not trying to nag or anything because all this should be fun! This is an early update but it's the last time I'm actually going to do something like this in demands of others. I will update whenever I'd like to which is Friday and Saturday, two days of the week, and that should be enough.

Without further ado, here's chapter 8.

Chapter 8

I sigh as I sit down in the hospital's waiting room.

Turns out, my mother's friend, whoever she is, hasn't arrived yet due to whatever is happening.

I lean in the uncomfortable chair I'm sitting in and rests my eyes seeing as I never really got that much sleep.  A few minutes passes and I'm still sat here.

'Hey,' I hear a deep voice speak.

I look up and there was a person looking at me with his hands tucked in his jeans pockets.

My mind tries to process who he was. I feel like I know him but I just can't place my finger on who exactly he was. I ,then, think about the last few days. The alley. The guy with the hoodie. SHAWN.

I suddenly felt a hand on my shoulder, taking me out of my thoughts.

'O-oh sorry, hi' I managed to say.

'I'm meant to be picking you up, do you want to go home and pack first?' he says, ever so casually.

I quickly nod, 'If that's not a problem'

He suddenly took his hand out for me to take. I held it and stood up straight. I knew I looked like absolute shit but I didn't care, this banging headache was getting to me.

We walked to his car and I got in the passenger seat slowly seeing as I was still recovering from my death (note the sarcasm).

Shawn puts the car in ignition and out blasted 'Never Say Never' by the one and only Justin Bieber.

I start laughing and he blushes and turns the music off quickly. Shawn then starts driving like nothing happened.

After a while, he finally parks in front of my house and I get out of the car and walked up the driveway. I lifted the 'welcome' mat and took the keys off the floor. I unlocked the door and walked in.

I gasped. The living room was a complete mess. There were a lot of shattered glasses around and the coffee table was halfway flipped over.

I held back my tears. I was worried about Mum. What happened? Who even hit me?

I walked upstairs to my room and grabbed my duffle bag from my closet. I then started packing it with my clothes and other stuff that I needed. I also grabbed my phone charger and laptop and places it on top of the clothes before zipping the bag up.

I stood up and looked around the room, taking my time.

I don't even know when I'll be back here or if I'll even be back.

'You okay?' I heard a voice behind me say.

I turned around a little quickly and nearly tripped until I felt a pair of arms wrapped around my waist.

I looked up to see Shawn. We were a little too close and there were barely a distance between us.

Shawn cleared his throat.

'I-i'm ready to go now,' I hurriedly grabbed the bag and walked out of my room to the car.

Shawn shook his head and walked to his car, driving home...or to his house in a way.
