Caw! Caw! CAW! I groaned out loud. “Shut up, you stupid crows,” I huffed, annoyed that the calls of the crows made me mess up on my drawing. I sighed and erased the picture, ripping the paper in the process. I growled.
“Oh just great! Fucking lovely!” I took my sketch book and went inside my family’s old 16th century Victorian house. The door creaked and groaned as I opened it.
“Dad, will you do something with this stupid door! Make it stop creaking!” I huffed again, still annoyed. Seeing as I won’t get a reply, I stormed up the stairs to my room, which was one of the biggest rooms. It had a walk in closet, its own bathroom, complete with separate bath and shower, with chrome finished features. My bedroom has a black bed, with dark purple and scarlet sheets and pillowcases, two walls were painted midnight purple and black. At least 15 posters covered the walls. Escape the Fate, Asking Alexandria, Slipknot, And Hollywood Undead. So on and so forth.
I walked to my desk, which was made of the thickest and the darkest oak there was, and set my sketchbook on top of it. I walked to my dresser-excuse me, my vanity, as my mom likes to say it- and studied my hair in the mirror. My hair was very black, as black as midnight, and wavy. I sighed and studied my eyes, which were an icy, frosty blue. Blue eyes and black hair…Great. I removed my black jacket, smoothing down my black dress. Yes, you may think I am gothic, but no. I wear dark colors because I like how they suit me better than the Barbie doll colors. Barbie colors and I so don’t look good together.
“Sasha! Dinner’s ready!” My mom, Lacy, yelled.
“Be right down!” I yelled back.
"Hurry up!" My dad, Jason, called out.
So, let me tell you about me. My name is Sasha Spiritia. I am 17 years old; I go to Lacy K. High School, I am a junior there. I loved to draw, read and write. I am 5’9”, I’m skinny as hell, and I am a vegetarian. I love animals, so I won’t eat them. But my mom and dad are carnivores so I just make myself a salad every night. Oh, and I live in Viola, Arkansas.
I studied myself in the mirror and went downstairs. I went into the dining room and saw my parents already eating. Ick, chicken and pork for dinner? How can they eat that stuff? I thought, mixing my salad with croutons and ranch. When I sat down and began to eat, my parents cleared their throats.
“Honey, we have some news…” Mom said gently. I looked at her strangely.
“If we have to move…I am not going to talk to you.” She laughed.
“No, we aren’t moving. But since your birthday is next week, we’re going to go see one of your favorite bands.”
My eyes widen. “We’re going to go see Slipknot?” I shrieked, my heart thumping with excitement.
Mom and dad smiled. “Yep, and the concert is going to be in Phoenix, Arizona”
I gaped at them, not believing a word of this.
“Oh, and we leave for the trip in 4 days.”
