Tammys POV
The next training session couldn't come fast enough. All day during school I had been counting down the minutes until I could finally hold the wip in my hand and learn how to use it. My group of friends had rolled their eyes at our lunch table when I expressed my ethuasium through my impatient sighs and glances at my watch. You could say at the very least that I was excited.
Dean however seemed nervous and distant all day. When our eyes made contact over the lunch table he would quickly look away and stike up a conversation with the Twins or Vanessa. I couldn't remember if I had done something to offend him.
I was glad when the day finally ended. I rushed to the White Beast in the school's parking lot and pulled out my key to unlock the car. Naturally, I dropped the key onto the ground. I groaned loudly; my arms were full of school books so I had to dump them onto the bonnet of the car. When I turned around to pick them up, Dean was standing there with the key chain hanging off one finger, an amused smirk covering his face.
"Thanks," I said as I took the key off him. I wasn't sure why he was here. I was meant to meet them at the facility.
I tunred around and unlocked the car and I placed the books from my bonnet onto the passenger side seat. When I finished Dean was still standing there, he had a look of pure concentration on his face then it suddenly changed to one of happiness.
Maybe he had a vision and his favorite football team won a game? I could only guess.
"Is there something I can help you with Dean?" I prompt him.
He looked at me with those striking blue eyes and ran a hand through his hair almost anxiously.
"I was wondering if you wanted to get dinner sometime?" he blurted out and a slight blush graced his tan skin.
My face broke into a grin and I tried to hold myself together. Dean Myer had just asked me out!
I spoke as calmly as I could, "I'd love to Dean."
His shoulders sagged with relief and he let out a breath he had been holding, "Great, how about tomorrow night? We can skip training this once."
I nodded my head eagerly and I had a ridiculous smile plastered on my face. We were standing there in silence for a long moment so I decided to leave before I did something embarrassing; like doing a happy dance right where I'm standing.
"See you soon Dean," I said as I crawled into the drivers seat. He smiled in reply as I took off down the road.
I looked into the rear view mirror to make made sure Dean couldn't see me. I pulled onto the side of the road and let out that happy dance I'd been holding in.

Deans POV
I watched as Tammy sped off down the road, leaving me wheeling in happiness from both her and myself. I hadn't been so nervous in my life. Vanessa was right; I have changed.
I was extremely grateful that I received a vision right before I had asked Tammy out:
"I was wondering if you wanted to get dinner sometime?" I saw myself say.
Tammy's beautiful lips had parted in shock and I could feel the eagerness radiating from her. Her attempt at playing it cool was extremely cute.
"I'd love to Dean," Tammy replied in a casual tone, completely opposite to what she was realling feeling.
I saw the huge breath that I was holding be released and I grinned hugely, thanking God that the Empress had given me a chance.

Tammys POV
Thankfully the incident with my dad was not repeated when I went home to change into some workout clothes. He wasn't even home. I guessed he was either at work or with the surprise 'visitor' Rachael.
The trip to the facility was short and I found myself once again at the massive wooden front door. I brought my hand up to knock but thought twice about it; they were expecting me, I could let myself in.
I turned the handle and was glad to discover that it was unlocked. I let myself in and made my way up the hall to the training room.
I stopped when I saw the commotion at the opposite side of the room. Dean and Dru were hastily throwing weapons into bags and the Twins and Vanessa were pulling black protective leather over their clothing. I watched as Dean strapped two long lethal knives to his back, the handles sticking up ready to be drawn.
Dru spotted me standing there awkwardly and called out to me as he strung his massive long bow, "Tam didn't you get the message I texted you?" I shook my head as he slipped his quiver full of arrows over his shoulder.
Mr Slade then entered in behind me looking very looked flustered. I followed him over to stand with Dean and Dru.
"Dean it's about ten miles north of Old Ridge. They were seen last by a Hunter not far from there. If you leave now you can still catch them."
Catch them? He must be talking about the Shadow Clan. Someone must have called in a sighting.
"I'm coming," I stated as I walked over to where my wip still hung. It looked lonely without all the other weapons.
"This is all yours, man," I heard Dru whisper to Dean. I sensed more than heard Dean approach me.
"Tammy, you're not ready. Stay here and practice with Derek," he spoke firmly but not unkindly. He wouldn't budge on this.
I shook my head stubbornly, "What if someone needs healing? They might not be as lucky as Anna was." I believed that was a valid argument, Dean however did not.
"We cannot let the Empress be hurt when you only just changed! Please Tammy, stay here."
I was about to argue but he pressed a kiss to my forehead and strode over to the weapons bag and hoisted it onto his strong shoulder. I stayed where I was and watched on with yearning as Anna finally left the room. I wanted to follow them so badly, if Mr Slade hadn't been there I would of jumped into the White Beast and drove after them.
Mr Slade broke the silence, "Let's go over what we did yesterday. Then we can work on the wip."
With one last longing look at the door, I sighed and took up a fighting stance bracing myself for what was to come.

My punches were stronger; my kicks were harder, thanks to the built up frustration I had bottled up. With a final blow I kicked Mr Slade in the stomach and he dropped to his knees, he was huffing.
"You're already stronger than me," he huffed, "imagine what you're going to be like when you're fully trained and ready."
I wanted that time to be now but Mr Slade insisted quite forcefully that I was not ready. We moved onto the wip next and I forgot everything and let the motion of the weapon take over my body. I will be good enough soon.
