A/N this starts out from the night that Jack gets to Mark's

Jack's POV
As I pad down the dark hallway quietly I try and not fuck up by waking anyone up. I might get yelled at and I really don't need that right now. I turn the knob on the door and see Mark's tired and muscular frame taking up a good portion of the bed. When I'm in the bedroom I shut the door as quiet as I can. With success I sneak under Mark's covers and snuggle up into his warm embrace. To my surprise his arm wraps around me bringing me closer.
"What's the matter?"

"I just didn't want to be alone after everything that happened today and I'm scared of the dark."
Mark chuckles and kisses the top of my head tiredly. He brings me even closer to him as I take in his scent.
"Don't worry baby boy I'll protect you from all the scary monsters in the dark," Mark yawns.

"Of course you will. You're my knight in shining armor."

"What," Mark questions with a small laugh.

"You save me from everything and try your best to save me. Which is exactly what a knight does. So you're my knight in shining armor."

"Then I guess that makes you my prince."

"I'd love to be nothing more," I smile.
As I put my head in the crook of Mark's neck he places his chin on top of my head. We soon fall asleep in the pitch black darkness and the silence of the room.

When I wake up Mark isn't in the bedroom. The space next to me is completely empty and cold. However the door quietly opens and there is Mark drying his cgerry red hair. When he sees me gleaming at him a small smile appears on his lips.
"Morning sunshine," he speaks with joy.

"Mornin'," I squeak rubbing the sleep from my eyes.

"Do you want to do something today? Maybe to give you a happier day than yesterday," Mark questions resting his palms on either side of my crossed legs looking into my baby blues.

"Can I just have some coffee before we do anything," I chuckle with a raspy voice. Mark gleams at me with a nod.

"If you get dressed and brush your teeth I'll go make us some."

"Deal."
Mark kisses my forehead softly before leaving to go make us coffee. I get out of bed and shuffle my way to the guest bedroom. The bed is a bit tussled from when I was in it for a couple hours last night. So I decide to be a good person and make it not wanting his mom to do more work than she needs to. Once I finish that I put on a pair of jeans that I shoved in my bag then putting on a T-shirt right after. As I slip on my socks the door opens. My red headed boyfriend stands in the doorway with two mugs and hands me one. I thank him setting it down on the nightstand so I can finish putting on my socks.
"So we could stay here, go see a movie, hang out with one of the guys, or take a drive. We could do anything since it's just us in the house."

"How about we stay here for today and tomorrow we could play games with the guys," I suggest drinking my coffee.

"Sounds like a plan."
We lay on the guest bed until I'm done with my coffee. I make my way into the bathroom and brush my teeth and washing my face real quick. As I do these things Mark is leaning in the doorway just giving me a soft closed smile.
"What," I ask with he toothbrush in my mouth.
I spit in the sink and Mark sneaks up form behind me and wraps his arms around me. He nuzzles his head into my neck kissing it softly.
"Why are you so pretty," he whispers.

"I don't know," I giggle with a blush creeping onto my cheeks.

"You're so adorable when you blush."

"Stop," I whine with a smile pushing him off of me.
I pad back into the bedroom and grabbing my phone from the charger. Mark follows me like a lost puppy into the room.
"Why are you following me," I chuckle checking my email.

"Don't have anything better to do."
My body freezes as I stare at the email. Mark asks what's wrong, but I don't say a word. He sits me down on the bed and takes my phone from my hands.
"What's wrong? It's just an email from your instructor."

"Mark I haven't picked a song yet and I have to guve her one today or I don't get it."

"Shit," he huffs.

"I'm not going to get it," I whisper to myself with a sad expression.

"Don't say that. Be positive! You are getting that solo and we are finding you a song starting right now."
***
It's been an hour and we have had no luck. Zilch, none, absolutely nothing! There has been a few meltdowns by myself, but that's not the point. The point is that I don't have a song and it's almost noon.
"There has to be a song that you want to do a dance to," Mark says with his head hanging over the edge of the bed.

"Well let's keep looking. Here's one," I say clicking on it.
As the song plays Mark sits up. He looks into my eyes and I can tell that this is the song. The song that absolutely suits me.
"So we have your song," Mark smiles at me slightly as I need my head sending my instructor the song.
Mark cheers with happiness as I finish up the email.
"I say we make lunch and watch a movie to celebrate."

"Sounds perfect," I gleam at him.
Mark pecks my lips before taking my hand and helping me off the bed. We walk down the carpeted stairs to the kitchen. I sit on the counter as he gets a pot to make Mac and cheese. We don't speak to each other. Just the complete silence is enough for us. It's not until he mixes the cheese in with the noodles that we engage in a conversation.
"So you want to watch a movie," Mark asks me.

"Yeah."

"Well go pick one out," he chuckles with a smile.
I hop off the counter and search through the shelves. Once I find a movie I crawl to the player and pop it in. When I stand up I notice Mark is behind me extending my bowl to me. I take it and sit on the couch grabbing the remote. He sits beside me quietly just engaging himself in the film.
***
It's 12:32 and I'm wrapped in Mark's arms as he sleeps peacefully. I roll over to face him. A smile appears on my lips as look at his beautiful features. I could just stare at him  forever. His grasp on me tightens and I sigh loosing my smile realizing that my family will be here tomorrow. Who knows maybe I'll be here until I graduate. Wouldn't surprise me. Mom wouldn't just leave dad because of me. He's a good guy well he was to me, but now I can't dare to be around him. I love Mark and all, but I can't live with his family my whole Senior year and the rest of Junior year. Sure one day it would be nice for us to live together in our own place, but I'm getting ahead of myself. Just now is when I should be with my family. I'm sure I'll know what is going on at dinner. All I can hope it's good. However anything will be good as long as I have Mark.
