I've been ignoring Carter for a while now.

I've also been very careful about going places that the kids can't go. I want to take them with me at all times but it's hard.

I just don't want...Carter saying things to them like he said to me that day. I still haven't forgiven him. Who would?

He's a home wrecker. All he cares about is himself.

My attempts to keep the twins by my side were in vain. We were invited to a parent teacher meeting at a restaurant in town.

Shadow, saying that I need to get out the house more, made me get dressed. Well, more like he had to dress me. Hehe. But that's not the point.

The point is that I have to leave the kids with him.

I wore (insert outfit from picture.)

Shadow wore a pair of black jeans and a white button up shirt.

Shadow and I were walking down the stairs, getting ready to leave. The twins were eating dinner in the kitchen.

As well as Carter.

We walked into the kitchen. "You look stunning, Mommy!"Maria beamed. I smiled. "Thank you, sweetie,"I replied. "Yeah! You look so pretty! You look good too, Daddy!"Haze said. Shadow ruffled both of their hair.

"Thanks, kido. Finish eating,"he said. They both nodded.

I noticed Carter looking at me, so I wrapped my jacket around me and glared at him.

"We'll be heading out now. You two can stay up for another two hours then it's bed time. Got it?"Shadow asked.

"Yes, sir, Daddy, sir!"

I smiled a bit.

Shadow and I gave them good night hugs and kisses. Shadow and I left.

We drove to the restaurant in the truck. We got out, walked in, and instantly found Brittany. She greeted us with a bright smile.

"(Y/n), Shadow! It's very nice to see you two again!"she said, giving us both a hug. "Same goes for you, Britt!"I smiled.

We found an empty table and sat down. The nice waiter brought us some kind of wine.

"So! I wanted to talk to you guys about Haze and Maria. It's nothing bad! They're wonderful, sweet kids that are very well behaved. I actually have some exciting news for you,"Brittany smiled.

"What is it?"Shadow asked. "Well, it's been scientifically proven that sometimes, same sex twins have some sort of thing were they can read each other's mind and finish each other's sentences,"she smiled brighter.

"You think...they can do that?"I asked. Brittany nodded. "I don't think! I know! And in addition to that, they are incredibly smart. The other day, I asked them both to tell me a word that started with 'Z',"she said.

"What'd they say?"

"Well, they both said Zirconium. Then Haze went on to tell me about how Zirconium is the fortieth element on the periodic table and Maria gave me examples as to what it's used for."

I stared at her in disbelief. "You're kidding, right?"I asked.

Brittany shook her head.

"They could probably skip a few grades. I wanted to see if you two would like me to give them more advanced work. Something they'd like to work on."

"I-I don't mind. As long as they want to do it, it's fine with me,"I said.

My two five year olds. I wonder how they know about the periodic table. Shadow and I have never even showed them something like that. It's a surprise but I'm very proud.
