Chapter 7

Emily was almost asleep when the bell rang.

"Yes!" Emily grabbed her books and fast-walked out the door, after everyone else.

She had learned earlier not to run in school.

Flashback

The bell rang for first period to be over. Emily got up and ran out the door, only to be called back inside the classroom.

"Emily, I know your new here, so, I'll let you off with a warning. You don't run in school. Do it again and you'll have detention."

"What's detention?" Emily asked as the teacher face-palmed.

"Just, don't run or you'll go where bad kids go."

Emily gasped, but then nodded and walked out.

End of flashback

She wasn't paying attention when she ran into Steve's locker.

"Dang." She murmured to herself.

"Who? Oh..." Steve looked at Emily who was rubbing her forehead. "I'm sorry!" He said as she took her hand off her forehead. There was a big red bump.

"It's okay. Watch..." She closed her eyes. The bump slowly faded away until it was completely gone. You couldn't even tell it was there.

"How did you? Oh... Yea" Steve almost completely forgot.

He finished putting everything in his locker and shut it. He motioned Emily to follow him, which she knew to do before he motioned.

They started walking. For a while it was quiet. Emily started getting bored. A evil smile crept across her face. She then took a deep breath.

"Steve. Steve. Steve. Steve. Steve. St-"

"Please quit!" Steve said through teeth.

"Fine. What do you want to talk abo-"

"Shhh...."

"What is it, St-" He put a finger on her lips to make her quiet.

"Someone's here..." He said when he took his finger down.

"Who?"

"Stay quiet and you'll be safe."

"Oh, okay." She then shut her mouth without question.

"Finally." Steve muttered under his breath.

The rest of the way was silent.
