The New Girl

In the first few chapters I'm going to be writing in first person as if it's happened to me. Please do correct my mistakes as my English isn't very good.
Enough with the introduction. Let's get on with the story.

*Lights suddenly turn on*
My eyes are burning from the light being suddenly turn't on...
"Get up! School time."
I sigh in disappointment, I was having a nice sleep then. This is my first day at Oak High, I moved from my old city because of some Gypsy's trying to jump my brother Sam. He pissed them off by stealing their bike now they want him, so we moved before it got too heated. I had some good friends there but sadly my parents made me leave them for this shitty school.

I arrive at school; everyone staring at me. They probably think I'm an alien...
I mean.. I'm just a person.
I walk in, and as I do, I bump into loads of people. I apologise every single time, but none of them seem to notice... And they carry on walking.
I check my time table, and it looks like I'm top floor, in Art. I make my way up the fleet of stares that seem to be going on for years. I wave to my brother as he goes to his class.
I walk into the class... I'm pretty early so I just sit down and wait for the teacher. There's a few pupils in the class but none of them acknowledge me.
The teacher finally arrives and introduces me to the class. He gets one of the girls to come and escort me around school and look after me, he said her name was Shauna. So I went to go sit by her... She looked at me and smiled.. I thought to myself; she's beautiful. She has long blonde hair, and blue eyes. I smile back at her, as anyone would if they have someone smile at them.
"What's your name?" She says, in a very soft and calming manner. I reply "Georgia...--- yours must be, Shauna?"
"Yes it is" she replies very softly. I think to myself, she must be very kind.

Sorry about the short chapter but it's a start. Tell me what you think! And how I should improve. Because this is my first book to write here. And don't forget to correct my bad grammar and spelling. Thanks!!!
