Episode 20: Sincere Love

A/N: Long note, all of my OC's are based off of my friends in real life. Lapis is based off of myself, and my friends are based off of their respective characters. Each time I went through a problem in real life with a friend, I changed their character to someone else. Caitlin used to be Liz, then Michaela in the very first version of Chapter 1. I brought Michaela back after her and I had become friends again in real life. Jesse, in real life, is Jo longer my friend but I'm keeping him because he was my childhood best friend and one day could still be if either of us can get past the issues that tore us apart. Finally, Kayla's character has been gender swapped and changed to my friend Chase. Kayla and I had one of the biggest falling outs I've had with anyone ever, and I don't see us ever going back to being friends. So, from here on out. Kayla is now Chase. The character has been changed in previous chapters and will furthermore be changed to Chase. I will fix the cover art eventually and put it up here so you can see the full thing, as well as show the character profiles for everyone. Further more, I have some final plans for this book, and plans for a sequel if anyone wants it (let's face it, I'll put it up anyone if I feel like it). Well, for now, that's it. Enjoy this chapter!

Mimi, Sora, Palmon, and Biyomon laid out on the beach, enjoying the sunny day. Summer was finally here.

"It's just us, isn't it?" Sora asked. She laid out in a red bathing suit, heart shaped sunglasses resting over her eyes.

"Well, Lapis went back to America for the summer to see her friends. Michaela and Caitlin were going to visit her at her favorite place. They were meeting up in real life, for real, without any form of digital access bridging them together." Mimi said. Her bathing suit was green with pink flowers on it.

"Matt has band practice, and Tai, T.K., and Kari agreed to go with." Sora recalled. "And everyone else was busy, too."

"It's kind of nice, just the two of us." Mimi said with a smile.

"Hey! What are we, chopping onions?!" Palmon said.

"I think the correct term is chopped liver." Biyomon corrected.

"Eww!" Palmon made a face of pure disgust. "Either way, we are here too!"

Both of the girls smiled at their partners. "We know. We wouldn't forget you were here."

Suddenly, the waves in the ocean got huge. They began to swell and rise, rushing forward toward the beach at great speeds. On top of the waves stood a tall humanoid in a white suit with purple hair that seemed as liquefied as the waves beneath it's feet.

"Is that a-?!" Mimi began.

"No way! It's a Digimon in the real world!" Sora cried.

"We have to get out of here!" Biyomon chirped. She flapped her wings to move as the other three ran behind them, abandoning their towels and other beach essentials.

The huge wave crashed to shore, sweeping everything within its path back into the ocean. The Digimon riding the wave stood on the sand just above where the water stopped it's crash course.

"I am Splashmon, general to NeoDevimon. My mission is to destroy the Digidestined and if I destroy the human world in the process, so be it." A deep voice boomed from the Digimon's lips.

"NeoDevimon?" Mimi questioned. "Isn't Devimon commanding the army?"

"He must have digivolved so he'd be harder to fight." Palmon said as she thought about the scenario.

"Now's not the time! We have to fight!" Biyomon chirped determinedly.

"Hydro Pressure!" Splashmon shouted. He raised his hands and shot high pressured water streams at great speeds from his fingertips. The attacks hit the girls and sent them flying further up onto the beach.

"We have to digivolve!" Palmon shouted.

"Go, Palmon!"

"Let's do it Biyomon!"

"Digivolve!" The girls shouted in unison.

Togemon and Birdramon came forth in flashes of light. The two charged the water tiger, ready to fight.

Splashmon laughed maniacally and shot little colorful splashers at the Digimon. Each different color had a different effect. One poisoned Togemon while the other froze one of Birdramon's wings.

"Oh no! What are we going to do?!" Sora cried as she watched Birdramon get slammed down into the water. She clenched her fists, tears springing to her eyes. She loved her partner. There had to be something she could do to help..

Mimi gasped in shock as Togemon fell to her knees, her green skin turning purple from the poison. Wasn't there anything she could do? She wanted so badly and sincerely to help her friend.

Sora's chest glowed red. Red light engulfed the injured Birdramon, giving her strength.

Green light grew from Mimi's chest, showering Togemon. Togemon's skin began to turn back to its normal color.

Both Digimon began to grow in size and change shape. Before anyone knew it, the Digimon burst free from their light and were born anew.

"Garudamon!" Cried a large Indian looking red bird.

"Lillymon!" Shouted a small green and pink Fairy with a flower for hair.

"They did it! They digivolved to Ultimate!" Sora cheered.

"Alright, Lillymon! Go get this creep!" Mimi yelled.

"Flower Cannon!" Lillymon brought her two hands together, forming a flower with a cannon at its center. She sent a blast of energy from the cannon.

Splashmon was hit by the attack, falling to one knee. He lifted his hand for an attack.

"Oh no you don't! Wing Blade!" Garudamon crossed her arms over her chest and released a blade of fire from her wings. The blade slashed Splashmon, sending him into a fit of pain.

"Ready, Lillymon?" Garudamon asked.

"Ready!" The fairy Digimon formed her flower cannon again. "Flower Cannon!"

"Wing Blade!"

The two moves combined into one and shot into Splashmon. The tiger Digimon howled in pain and dispersed into data, but not before yelling, "You'll never win, Digidestined!"

Garudamon and Lillymon turned back to Palmon and Biyomon. The two nestled into their partner's arms, exhausted from their fight.

The two girls smiled at each other. "Well, that's one step to being stronger."
