Lothaire’s Point of View

Oooh, burn. Kakalipat ko lang. Ang weird nga eh, may ganito pala. College prep school. Wala na silang magawa sa buhay?

Oh. It might help me anyway. Okay. Whatever.

I walked through the gates and into the campus. Not bad, I thought. Spacious, airy. But way too formal. It made me want to cringe and back away.

Walk. Walk. Walk. I walked; staring at the faces of the girls I encountered. Tsss. They look so... self absorbed. Maaarte ata. Puro ba ganito tao dito? Mahihirapan ata akong makibagay. Hay, nakooooo.

But.....

Just who is this?

I looked carefully at this girl before me. I accidentally bumped her and the books that she was carrying were knocked off of her arms and sprawled on the floor. Before I could even make a move to pick them up for her, she was down on the floor, scrambling for them. I followed suit. Shocks, ano bang mga libro 'to? Modern Chemistry; uy, may nagbabasa pala nun. King Lear! Holy crow, she actually reads Shakespeare! Gah. Several other titles: Wuthering Heights, Phantom of the Opera. There was even a Math book in there.

O.o

May nagbabasa (NAGBABASA!) pala ng math book.

Naisip ko tuloy, magkakasundo kayo ng mommy ko.

“Hey, I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to.” I said. She was so damn intimidating.

“Oh, you’re talking about this? It’s fine,” she said, nonchalantly. “It happens all the time.” Alin kaya? laging may nakakabangga sa kanya nang ganito?

“It happens all the time? You must be joking.” I managed a chuckle.

She returned a menacing glance. “Do I look like I’m joking?” she snapped, but her tone was dead.

“I’m sorry. What’s your name, uhh, miss?” I asked, hesitatingly. To me, she looked like someone scarcely past childhood. Her tone and manner of speaking did not exactly match her physique.

“They call me Cyborg.” And she went off. Cyborg?! Lokohan teh?

Not bad, I thought. That girl Cyborg is something, not like most other girls I've already saw in this school upon transferring. For one, she does seem to have a world of her own, that’s my impression of her. Parang ayaw niya sa mga..... masasayahin (?) at maiingay na tao (kagaya ko). Ewan ko lang. Ngayon ko lang naman nakita eh....

It was like she’s inside a neat little bubble, isolated. What made this my impression of her?

It’s such a shame that she seems so cold. Maybe that’s why the others called her “Cyborg”. Petty little nickname. She’s very pretty, though. Kay gandang halimaw. Slim, slightly shorter than I am. Chocolate brown eyes which looked kinda.... Asian , and dark, bone straight hair.

She looked like an angel to me.

She was intimidating, and yet at the same time, she piqued my curiosity.

Who was that girl Cyborg? I felt the need to know.
