My sight was set on the trees. They moved as I was getting closer and closer to my destination: my new home. People say that when they move to a new place, it was for the adventure, but sadly, I wasn't. I was moving because of personal reasons and the rising problems that was occurring to my mother and I in Colorado. It was sad leaving Denver, but is was necessary. I closed my eyes, letting Amy Lee's beautiful voice and lyrics wash away my worries.

By the time Everybody's Fool ended, I felt the car coming to a halt. My eyelids rose and we were at our new house.

It was 2 stories high, with a large decorated window at the higher level. It also had a window on the left side on the lower level. My sight turned to look at the garage. It was big enough for two vans.

Suddenly, a warm hand was placed on top on mine, making my head turn at my left. I smiled as I took out my headphones. My mother smiled at me back.

For a woman in her 37s, she looked very young. Her short and curly auburn hair resting on top on her shoulders. Her ivory skin adorned by red lips, rose cheekbones and light rosy eye shadow. Her long eyelashes making her hazel eyes stand out.

"Amber, I need you to pick your suitcase and enter your new home. I'm going to be late for work."

We just arrived and she was going to work? That's not fair.

"Do you really have to go? I want you to show me around.", insisting her to stay with me.

She sighed. "I want to show you around, but I have to go to at least present myself. I also want to see the place."

I sighed in defeat. She placed her hand on my cheek and kissed my forehead. "How about when I leave work, we can see the town and buy ice cream? Does that sound good?"

My eyes light up with happiness. "That's good with me." She knows how much I love ice cream.

She laughed softly. "Ok, now go.", sounding a little demanding.

"Alright."

I got out of the car and closed the door behind me. I went to the trunk and rose it when I heard the click. I grabbed my suitcase and place it on the street. Raising the handle I went to the mahogany colored door, with a crystal rose design on the middle. I left the suitcase there and went to the creamy Fiat. She lowered her window and gave me a key.

"This is the copy of my key. Take care of it.", placing it at the palm on my hand. She closed by hand and held it there for a minute.

"Amber,", her hazel eyes glancing at my bright amber eyes. "I promise you, this will be a new start for us."

"I know.", lifting my free hand and placing it on top of hers. She let go and handed me a paper.

"This is the code of the alarm. Put the four numbers when you enter."

I nodded. "Got it.", placing it on my front pockets.

"I love you, Amber. See you before 7."

"I love you too, mom."

I skipped to the sidewalk and walked the small cream stairs, reaching the door. I put the key and unlocked the door. I turned to look at my mom and she waved at me. I grabbed the handle and turned the doorknob. When opened, I pushed the suitcase inside. When I saw my mom leave, I closed the door. I turned around and looked at my new house.

The fist thing I saw was the dinning room at my left. It had the window I saw outside in the car. The wall where the window was had a cherry tone, the others had a warm beige. The room's floor had a wooden brown color. The dinning room table had a brown sugar color and six chairs. I walked towards a white door and opened it, revealing the kitchen. Quickly at my left was the pantry. I entered the kitchen, in the middle a counter with a golden brown countertop. There was another door at the end of the wall in the kitchen. I walked over there and saw a washer and a dryer, and a large window.
