Stanza One

I sat there on the cold floor. Waiting. Waiting. Today is the day. I've waited 2years for this . The day I become queen. The day that filthy robe goes on my back. That suffocating crown. That venomous ring. The day I rule the land of Damon. My parent's legacy. They say I'm heartless. They say I'm cruel. Am I really..they'll all see.
Spiron our head priest rose off his leather chair and walked towards the crown. I strode down the aisle to the music. Lorde's team is silently playing in the background. I move along with the beat. As I step upon the throne. I spot Max and his girlfriend Dia. They both wave and smile. I smile back. They've been my only family since my parent's died.
Spiron winks at me. It a shame he doesn't know I dislike him. As soon as this is over he's fired. I offer a half smile.
He chants some unknown language. Then finally let me swear on the bible the only piece of religion I know.
"I Insanuum solemnly swear to rule Damon with power, peace and Heart. I will bring prosperity to my people" I smirk. Some were skeptic ..imagine a 22 year old woman ruling over them. The priest looks at me. "I now crown Queen Insanuum ..ruler of Damon" he shouts. Cheers come from all sides. He sits the crown on my head. I'm in my royal red gown and a gold tiara. I'm now a Queen. Maximus stands and shouts "long live the Queen!!". Everyone follows with more chants. I smile and sit on my throne. Then wave as I get ready to say the pledge of our land. "With grace and honor ,courage and respect. Damon will prosper. With all its people working as one." Then I place my hand on my heart and say "by all means".

Hours past and now I'm getting ready for bed. Then I hear a sharp knock on my door.
"Who is it ?" My voice is laced with power.
"Its me malady" Maximus speaks.
"Come in" I say to him.
And even tho I'm in only bra and panties I don't care. He's the only man who has seen me like this. He smiles when he sees me.
"My Queen" he bows. I nod. "What's up?" I giggle.
"Now that's the max I know" he grins and sits on my bed.
I put on a night gown.
"Nothing as usual..just here texting Lexi"
"Lexi ..who didn't like you at royal school?" He grimaces.
"Stop max . she's changed. The only reason she didn't was because Dale liked me then"
"Not to mention still does" he lays back.
"They're married max" I add gratefully.
"So you are bestie's now?"he frowns.
"No your the only one " I say as I kiss him on the cheek.
He smiles back. Just checking.
"Is dia asleep?" I ask .
"Yes. Some one wore her out" he smirks.
"I swear ...she can't keep up"
We both laugh. He looks at me.
"I gotta go. Sleep you have a big day tomorrow. The big first address."
"Ok I'll see you max" he waves
"See you princess"
Max lives across the street in his mansion. Yeah my bestie is a billionaire. A fashion designer at that.
Me I'm naturally rich don't gotta work. I'm joking this Queen stuff is hard work. I lay there falling asleep.
As I fall into sleep. I see the blurry image of a man sitting in my chair.
Then I drift away.
