Rue's POV:
"It's probably best to stay away from her Rue," Victoria says scoffing at the thought of the new girl.
"Vikki you say that about anyone who isn't supernatural," I sighed.
"Exactly. Because if you get close to those kind of people, they just hurt you. I should know," She said picking up her book.
"Of course you would," I mumbled.
I looked at Allison, who only gave me a soft smile. I picked up my books and walked out. I sighed.
"Why can't Victoria let me make new friends?"I said.
"Oh, so Vikki talked to her first?"
I whipped around and only saw that it was Frank.
"Yeah, Vikki talked to her first," I growled.
"No wonder she seems like she's in a bad mood. I tried talking to her but she only walked away," He looked away.
"I'm still determined to get her to sit at lunch with us," I said.
"I don't know if that's a good idea. You know how Vikki gets..." He slowly looked away rubbing the back of his neck.
"Well, screw Vikki, she's not my mom! I can take care of myself. Besides, she just looks like she needs, some, friends," I argued.
Frank gave me a nervous look saying 'I don't like where this is going' but screw him, I do what I want. What I want to do is get this....girl to be my friend.
"Why does she have to be bitchy to every-"
"Rue Victoria! Watch your language," Victoria interrupted.
Frank sighs and suggested, "Maybe if we leave the poor new girl alone until lunch, she'd be in a less pissed off mood. Eh?"
I elbowed Frank in the side. Is he insane? Just because she may seem like a bitchy, moody, teenager, doesn't mean she's not nice!
Speak of the devil, not in a mean way, Zyra walked right past us 'accidentally' bumping into Victoria. She then turned around, "Oops...sorry."
I stared at them, the two, catching everyone's attention. Victoria raised her hand, as if she was going to slap her. But, my eyes turned purple and she stopped.
"Rue!" She exclaimed.
"Don't. Do. It,"
She stood there shocked.
"You, controlled....ing me to save her from being slapped?" Victoria questioned rudely.
"Yes, yes I am," I stated proudly, finally standing up to Victoria.
Victoria stopped and broke free from my spell. She sighed and pushed past us. I looked back at Zyra and realized that this friendship is going to be harder than I expected...
Zyra's POV:
At this point, I'm getting tired of this waif hipster bullshit. (Please tell me someone gets this reference.) I got enough crap and disrespect on the streets. This year, I'm taking shit from nobody. I've been tormented through enough of my life. Except for that one girl that's at least being a bit nice to me, she did just save me from getting slapped. Being the respectable yet slightly bitchy witch I am. I telepathically tell this girl, I mean Rue, thanks and I make my way to my next class.
Rue's POV:
"I FREAKING KNEW IT! SHE IS NICE!!!" I exclaimed.
Frank looked at me.
"When did she ever talk during that?"
"She said it mentally Frank. Mentally!!!!!"
Frank shook his head, and we headed to class.
By the time lunch rolled around, I was ready, I knew exactly what I was going to say to her......that was a lie, I was just going to wing it. I got my lunch and saw Zyra. Sitting alone with her nose stuck in some notebook I would always see her write in. Target locked. Mission Get This Stubborn Witch To Be My Friend initiated. I walked over and sat across from her.
"Hello, again," I greeted her.
"Hello?" She slowly looked up with what seemed like no emotion. How does she do this? I have no idea.
"Can I sit here?" I asked.
She shrugged and continued writing whatever so, I sat down next to her. I looked over at the supernaturals typical table and Victoria was glaring me down while Frank seemed nervous for me. Then there was Allison, she was just a happy camper and silently cheering me on in the background.
"So, do you want come sit with us, over there?" I pointed to my table. Not to my surprise she answers with a flat out, "No." I whimper a bit.
"B-but, whyyyyyyyyyyyyy." Yes, this was my plan...
Zyra's POV:
No, hell to the no. The people over there hate me. Why would I sit with them?
"No."
"B-but, whyyyyyyyyyyyyy."
"Because. No,"
"Pwease,"
"No,"
"Whyyyyyyyy??" She started to cry.
"Becau-" Then I caught a glance of possibly the worst set of glares ever, and they were all aimed at me. I think Rue is the baby of the group and the rest of them.....are the mama bears. Then I saw it, the smirk she had on her face for that slight second, this was part of her plan. That was just evil but, I respected her....now I got to hide. Then it was like she was reading my mind.
"Will you sit with us now?"
Then I punched her. While saying,
"Leave me alone!" I regretted what I did immediately but either way, I ran faster than the fucking wind.
As I started running I heard someone stand up and run as fast as I did. I heard heavy footsteps of a dude. Therefore I run faster. The next thing I know I'm tackled by the same dude from before that grabbed me. He looked angry, upset and guilty all at once. He had me pinned to the ground and heavily breathing.
"What did she do for you to have any reason to hurt her..." he asked me. I was admittedly scared and I think my face showed it.
"S-she was asking me if I wanted to sit with her at lunch and I said no. After multiple times of begging and me saying no s-she started to cry. I didn't know what to do." My response made him go wide eyed and he sighed. Granted he stayed on top of me for some unknown reason.
"I'm sorry I freaked, I just don't like when people get upset. By the way, I'm Frank." He smiled.
To be continued.....
