As Cindy and her brother walked to school, Jaedan noticed something in a nearby construction site. "Cindy, do you see that?" he called to her. Cindy looked at her annoying brother.

"No I don't see anything you brat," Cindy said, "C'mon we're gonna be late to school." Cindy started up walking again.

"But Cindy," her brother yelled, "It'll only take a second," he trailed off as he walked into the construction site. Cindy turned, but her brother was already gone.

"Jaedan?" she called. She didn't hear anything so she ran into the construction site. She ran and ran, but couldn't find Jaedan.

Jaedan on the other hand was doing some of his own exploring. He followed what seemed to be a shiny object hanging off something. When it finally came into view, he realized it was hanging off a man's leather jacket. It was in the shape of a silver rabbit.

"Woah," Jaedan said and ducked behind a nearby scrap pile.

"Did you find him?" the guy said. That's when Jaedan noticed the other man. The other man was in a white suit with his white hair pulled back into a ponytail.

"Jaedan!" Cindy said, "You can't just run off lik-"

"Shh!" Jaedan pulled Cindy down where he was hiding, "They'll notice us."

Cindy looked ahead to see what her brother had been following. Jaedan and his sister continued to be quiet so they could continue to eavesdrop on the two men. The man in leather looked around to see what the noise was, but he blew it off.

"Anyway," the man in the white suit said, "I found him. He goes by the name David. David Hatter."

The kids sat in shock. These men were looking for their dad. Why did they want their dad?

"Great. Where is he?"

' "His house is around the corner, but Alice is with him."

"Well," the man in leather said, "wait until one of them leaves, then get him."

"Okay boss"

The guy in the white suit walked back towards Hatter's house. The guy in leather sighed and looked at the mirror on the wall. Jaedan and Cindy hadn't even noticed it before now.

"Hey! What are you doing?" A construction worker yelled towards the guy in leather. The guy in leather jumped into the mirror and disappeared.

"Woah," Jaedan said.

The construction worker looked around and scratched the back of his neck. As he turned around Jaedan started to walk towards the mirror.

"Jaedan what are you doing?" Cindy said, concerned.

"We have to go after that guy," he said, "They want dad!"

"Jaedan, we can't just go after him!"

"You go to school then," jaedan said, "I'm gonna find out why they want dad." With that, Jaedan jumped into the mirror. Cindy gasped and then ran after the construction worker.

"Sir could you do me a favor?" she asked, calmly.

"What is it?" he said. Cindy took out her notepad and wrote down her address.

"Could you go to this address and tell the people who open the door to read this message?" As Cindy said this, she wrote down what all had happened and that she was going to follow her brother.

"Thank you so much!" she said as the worker took her message to her parents.

Cindy ran back to the mirror and stared at it. She touched it with her finger and the mirror rippled like water.

Cindy checked her surroundings once more and then stepped into the mirror.
