My Little Blessing (a Camren story)

Chapter 1

- Lauren's P.O.V -

*school bell ringing*

"Alright everyone have a nice summer vacation!"

 My Advanced Art III teacher Mr. Tello   had said as the bell rang. While all of the other 'normal' teens ran out as fast as their feet could take them, as usual I stayed and took my time to pack up my stuff, "Lauren? I thought you would have gone out just as fast as everyone else did." he said with a soft smile while looking up from a few papers he was stacking and putting away in his bag. "Well Mr. T, I couldn't just leave without giving you a goodbye gift," I smiled as I placed a medium sized basket with new brushes, pencils, and many other items you would find in any art class. I had done this my freshmen year while I was at Ocean View but I realized that I wouldn't see those teachers every  year so I only did it for Mr. Tello since he was my visual arts teacher and I would be seeing him all four years of my high school career.

"Oh my," he had said with a smile "thank you so much Lauren, I'll make sure to use these on my trip to Europe with Jenny this year.How about you, do you have any plans this summer Ms. Jauregui?" he said as he started to put away the last few papers into his bag. "Oh, well I'm not really sure-" I was saying just as I felt my phone vibrate in my pocket, I took it out to read who it was from.

QUEEN  : Laur where are you? I'm in the front with Ally in my car we have a surprise for you!

"Sorry Mr. T I gotta go, my friend is looking for me," I say as I start to fast walk towards the door "Have a nice trip!" I say as I turn out of the door way.

Me  : Jesus Mani, I'm on my way I was just leaving, I was giving  Mr. Tello his end of the year gift

QUEEN  : Smh Laur, that's really weird, It's like you're in love with the guy

I roll my eyes as I read that last message. What? A girl can't give her favorite teacher an end of the year gift? Nothing wrong with that

Me  : Mani there's nothing wrong with that

QUEEN  : mhmm just hurry your Cuban butt over here Ally said she has to pee

I laugh quietly as I put my phone back into my pocket while I started to walk faster. I suddenly feel myself bump into someone and start stumbling backwards onto my butt, as I wince at the sudden movement. I look up to see a girl with beautiful long dark brown hair, she had really pretty eyes, they were a nice shade of brown, she was wearing black denim shorts which showed off her long tan legs, she also wore a white tank top, and over it, a very fitting red and black plaid flannel shirt.

"Might want to look where you're going hot rod," she said as she put her hand out to pick me up "Wouldn't want a pretty thing like you to get hurt." she smiled. Man. Even her smile was pretty,  I thought as I was gazing up at her dreamily

Oh, one more thing I might have forgotten to mention, if you couldn't already tell. I'm gay. Enough about me though.

After I collect my thoughts I realize that I might have been looking at her for too long. I then take her hand as I get up and start to stutter.

"Oh I- I'm sorry I wasn't l-llooking where I was going I- uhm... I'm Lauren." I said shyly as I looked down at my shoes and gazed up at her occasionally.

"Camila," She grinned "So Lauren,  why are you walking so fast?" she said with a little chuckle "I mean I know it's the first day of summer but you should slow down, you wouldn't want to tire yourself out so fast." she said in a smooth yet interested tone.

"Oh well I-I uhm I was just on my way to my friends car and I uhm.. I'm sorry for bumping into you I wasn't looking, I'm kind of clumsy like that, I didn't mean to I ju- ." I started to ramble on when I suddenly felt her hand on my on mine. "Hey hey hey, calm down" she laughed "It's okay, stop saying sorry, everyone makes mistakes." She said, I felt my cheeks turn a bright crimson as I looked at her, I looked down and smiled. "Okay... well I uhm, I guess I have to get going" I said blushing still because her hand was still holding mine. "Leaving so soon pretty eyes?" she says smoothly, "Yeah my friend is probably still waiting for me in her car while the other is trying not to piss her pants."

As I said that Camila raised her eyebrow as if she was trying to question what I was saying.

"It's a long story.... but uhm I'm really sorry about bumping into you like that, I wasn't looking at where I was going." I said apologetically. "It's fine really." she says looking at me "So, before you go, I know we just met but... would you maybe like to uhm.. go out for pizza or anything like that?" she says nervously while looking at the ground for a split second. "Are you asking me out on a date?" I say with a small smile, again while blushing a little. "Well let's just say, if you go out on this so called 'date' with me, we can forget about this whole 'you bumping into me and falling on your butt' moment huh?" she said with a confident tone. "Hmm..." I thought. "Okay, but-" I said, Camila smiled at the first word I had said but then it quickly faded away as I said the second. "I'm going to need your phone number" I said with a small smile. "Oh, right" She laughed.

I took my phone out and we exchanged numbers.

"Well uhm" I said smiling. "I gotta go but ... text me?" I asked. "Yeah, I'll text you later tonight." she grinned. As I started walking away I start to smile like an idiot. Today has probably been one of THE greatest first days of summer ever I think in my head as I start my way towards Normani's car.
