"Class, this is Magpie Ward."

I winced as the class started snickering. Couldn't she have just called me Maggie? Did she really have to say Magpie? That was such a ridiculous name.

"...it's just Maggie, ma'am." I objected quietly, and she blinked down at me.

"Call her Maggie." The teacher added, and I sighed a bit as the teacher gestured for me to take a seat at the back of the class.

The desks were shared between students, so as I sat down, I found myself seated beside a cute boy with black hair and stunning blue eyes.

He looked over at me and smirked boyishly, resting his chin on his hand.

"So, Magpie, is it?" He taunted, quirking an eyebrow and causing me to shot him a glare.

"Bhfuil sé Tá Maggie, is féidir leat moron." I snapped, knowing he would not understand me if I spoke in Gaelic.

I couldn't help it, sometimes I would just start speaking Irish if I got annoyed, or upset, or any other emotion really.

"I assure you, I'm not a moron, Maggie."

"You understand Gaelic?" I blinked, surprised.

"Tá. Is féidir liom labhraíonn í chomh maith." He responded, smirking at me.

"So you do... and why do you know such a language?" I inquired, and he shrugged.

"I have a... after school job that requires vast knowledge, I suppose you could say. Both my mother and my father, along with my grandfather, have taught me multiple languages and skills." He explained, and I raised an eyebrow.

"Impressive."

"Thanks" He spoke, smirking, before he hesitated, then held out his hand.

"Damian al... uh, I mean... Damian Wayne."

I shook his hand.

"Pleasure to meet you, Damian, I'm, well... you already know my name." I sighed, and Damian grinned.

"Magpie." He snickered, and I pulled my hand away from his and glared.

"Diabhail." I snarled coolly, and Damian looked confused.

"Devil?"

"Mhm. That's what the name Damian means. Devil. I think it fits perfectly."

Damian simply grinned.
