Hey, guys this is my first fan fiction.
(Takes place after The Grand Magic Games.)
While Lucy walks home from the guild on a normal night she is attacked by an immensely powerful mage clad in black. Some guild members find her unconscious and almost...
I could feel pain all over my body. In fact, after blacking out that was all I could feel. I literally felt like I was crushed to the bone by a bulldozer. Hopefully that describes enough.
I wanted to wake up so badly, but I felt too drained and in too much pain. I could feel a big headache coming on. After a while of struggling I just gave up and was out like a light. ~~~~~ I could hear someone softly calling my name. The ironic thing was that the voice sounded so familiar, but I couldn't quite put my finger as to who it belonged to.
I felt so drawn to the voice that I felt like waking up. After a few minutes of struggling, I managed to open my eyes. Unfortunately the voice stopped.
Sitting up, I saw a starlit sky surrounding me, with a familiar looking tree in the distance. There was a large swing connected to a strong branch that had flowers woven onto.
As I was wracking my brain trying to remember the tree, I remembered the voice.
I stared at the bright stars. I could still remember the soft voice calling my name, so being the curious moron I am, I decided to investigate. The spot that stuck out the most was definitely the tree. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ When I reached the tree, there on the back, I saw faint carvings of initials, belonging to my parents.
And as if I was hit on the head with one of Levy's hardcovers, memories flew in.
Now if you were to see my reaction right now, you would probably back away slowly, then run.
I laughed. And probably injured myself a little more at that, but I still continued to clutch my belly and laugh.
Yeah I know what you might be thinking, 'Oh Mavis she's probably losing it' but I had a good reason.
I laughed, because the first memory that popped up was the voice of my mother telling me how she surprised and almost gave a heart attack to my unromantic father by carving in their initials into the very tree I would played under.
*flashback*
I laughed as my mother pushed the swing while my father pretended to be the tickle monster by attacking my bare feet. "Mama, higher, higher! " I squealed while my parents laughed.
"Lucy, we have to go in now, but why don't I make you a deal? I'll tell you any story you like under this very tree, before we have a race back inside. " my mother bargained.
"YES! Oh can you tell me the story about your initials again? " said ten year old me while gently caressing the rough carvings.
"On good choice star princess. " my mother replied using the very nickname she gave me the day I was born. Of course my father grumbled about how I'd heard or so many times, but my mother and I chose to ignore it.
"Okay, well, the first time your father brought me to his home was to show me a surprise. I was suspicious at first because he had started leading me into the woods of his yard, and the first thought that came into my head was 'He better not even dream about hurting me'. But of course my little faith in him was restored as soon as he showed me the surprise; a beautiful mahogany tree with a graceful swing in place with it. After recovering from shock of the surprise, because let's face it your father was and still is a very awkward man when it came round these sorts of things. I leaped right on top of him and thanked him. For awhile we just sat there swinging, and I had the urge to surprise him back, so I pulled out my dagger, which to my surprise made him fall of-" "Hey it surprised me. " my father grumbled while I giggled.
"Mama, back to the story! "
" Of course, so he fell off and started crying! Me thinking he had gotten hurt raced towards home with the dagger in one hand to check if he was okay, while he scampered away! After explaining him that I did not want to harm, but instead surprise him, he turned around while I carved our initials in, thus symbol of the first eternal proof of our love. " my mother finished, during the story I giggled, my father pouted, and my mother had an evil smirk on her face directed to my father.
Immediately I asked the first question that came to my head, "Mama do you still have the dagger?"
My mother had a look of pride on her face.
My father paled.
I, on the other hand, wanted to see the tool that brought my parents closer together.
"Yes, I do have the dagger, I planned on giving it to you as well my star princess. " my mother easily answered back. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Let me tell you one thing, you better not mess with a woman, especially when she has a dagger in her boot. You don't know what she has it for. For all you know it could be anything.

Layla and Lucy's dagger
I eventually did receive the dagger, but unfortunately it came with the rest of my mother's will towards me. I was devastated but with that simple, yet striking dagger, it felt like a piece if my mother was still with me.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Hey people, sorry about the long wait. School is getting in the way of a lot of things, hope this long chapter makes up for it!
