Everything was supposed to be a lie and none of those words that he said to me were part of the mere truth. My destiny that was changed by a simple melody that is used to be part of a vague memory of someone was about to fade away.

I’ve been dreaming of that guy, the same old guy with an ash-colored hair, dark brown eyes that can attract anyone, a milky white skin and a smile that can bring up light. He is my angel watching from a far.

In my dreams he would always be sitting by my window’s apartmentthen a beautiful melody will be played, and then his wings will flap, he will flew away. He would leave something, agolden pocket watch that has been adorned with beautiful and delicate gems. A name was engraved on it beautifully but when I looked at it was ECILA.

Then my friend woke me up from my fairy-tale like dream.

“Ecila! You’ve been sleeping in class again, aren’t you?” Lilia said.

I smiled and she smacked my head.

“Violent monkey!” I shouted.

She just laughed and asked if I dreamt of the same guy, I nodded and blushed. I guess destiny is trying to tell me that he’s the guy for me.  The school ended early because of a snow storm. Lilia went ahead because I still don’t feel like going home.

I walked home alone by dusk. The white and fluffy snow that covered the whole town with loneliness just brought my heart peace. The light posts are lighting one by one as I hop around the sidewalk. I was about to cross the street and did not notice a car was coming. I was about to be hit but someone saved me. I thought I was dead because I could feel the coldness of the snow all around me but I feltthe warmth of the person who saved me that enveloped me. When I looked at him, he looks like the guy in my dreams.

That person helped me stand up said with his gentle but manly voice, “Be careful.”

Those were the words that he left me, they were so gentle and sweet and for a moment it made my heart skipped for a bit. I don’t know why I felt really happy on that moment, it’s like happiness is pouring out of me. I walked happily but it seems that I stepped onto something. It was a pocket watch, the same one from my dream; I opened it and saw my name engraved on it. I immediately hid it inside my bag and ran so fast to reach my home. I immediately took the elevator and ran fast to reach my place.

I’m the only one living in this apartment that felt like a prison, my parents abandoned me. They said that they don’t want a child with a bad behavior. I was a juvenile delinquent when I was in middle school. I always go home with injuries, bruises and scratches all over my body. My mother can’t withstand this and told me to quit. I didn’t listen to her and kept on fighting with other delinquents.

On the day of my birthday, they left and said, “To the child we wished to be left unborn.”

I cried the whole night and tried to kill myself. And then I decided to change; I dyed my hair back to blonde and went back to school. I tried to be normal like the other people, talked normally and lived normally. I went far way and went to my friend’s school where only a few people know me. Even though there were rumors of me being a delinquent I lied to them by telling that I am not.
