My day off was over and I was called back to Martel for my first mission as Wallace Noble, Private 3rd Class, but before I left, Tordek made me a bunch of arrows plus four explosive arrows (that is where the feathers went.) When I arrived at the sergeant's office, I saw the sergeant with a bunch of people. He began introducing me to the people I will be with in my first mission-
An enthusiastic Gunmarshal named Lawrence,
A grumpy-looking female Gunmarshal named Fedira,
Two traders named Kuzma and Perinioc and
A grumpier-looking man clad in fine clothes named Gaston Llanalir- a son of the scion of the temple of Brigh in Alkenstar.
My mission was to accompany these people to the Gunworks as they deliver something. We set off Martel with a wagon pulled by camels and took a stop for the night in the middle of the desert wasteland, with Perinioc insisting that we stay. I was able to convince Gaston to stay, knowing that he does not like his rich clothes soiled. I took the first watch, sitting on a rock while everyone else slept... until I saw Perinioc's bedroll unoccupied and a man running to the horizon in the dead of the night. I alerted the other Gunmarshals as I chased this man. As I ran, I realized it was Perinioc I was running after and he shot a gun at me, to which I luckily dodged. He later runs back at the camp when Axebeak-riding bandits began surrounding me, to which I followed him back.
At the camp, I saw Kuzma, Lawrence and Fedira fighting the bandits, with Perinioc coming out of the wagon after the fighting holding Gaston hostage. We were told to drop our weapons, which I did with everyone else. However, I made a foolish move- I warned Gaston to duck as I am about to tackle Perinioc. Sadly, Gaston didn't sense it. I was able to tackle Perinioc, but he already pulled the trigger aimed at Gaston's head, blowing his head off. As I tackled Perinioc, I knocked him unconscious. Now we have a big problem on our heads- how are we going to explain this? Luckily, Kuzma had a plan- go back to Martel looking wounded, tell the guards that we did our best to fight Perinioc, but he was able to kill Gaston. We did it and our first attempt at the guards was successful, and they brought us to Sergeant Nadir. However, our second attempt failed because of me saying an honest story. Not so soon after that, a big, hulking man came in and said "which of you killed my son?" We all pointed at Perinioc and he choked the guy to death, Pharasma point the crazy bastard to Hell. He later turned at sergeant and said pointing to us "I want them captured and killed." As soon as he said that, Kuzma dropped a smokestick, creating a thick cloud of smoke and made our escape to Alkenstar on camels (Have you ever seen a camel run so fast? This is one of the rare moments I've seen one.) He had to point out the foolishness on my part on the way.
In the middle of the desert, he told Fedira to leave and she left without a word, like it's an order. He told me and Lawrence that he will give us an offer for his organization known as "Hourglass." He told us to meet him somewhere near Old Ironside, that one district in Alkenstar. If I am able to get there alive, I have a place in Hourglass, but I have to pass through Beggarton.
Iam now a wanted man for some crime associated to me. Heavens help me.
