Chapter 46

Toni woke up to her parents staring down at her, she groaned when she saw her eyes catching her mother's eyes unexpectedly, she groaned internally, she really didn't want them to see her like this. Her mother saw she was awake and moved towards her immediately stroking her hair

"Eva my baby? How do you feel"

"It's Toni mum" she felt the need to say

"Is that important now? Why did you do it....again"

"Nothing" she quietly replied looking at her dad who hadn't said anything since but had this pitiful expression she hated to see

"Why did you guys come all the way down here, I'm fine as you can see" she examined her hand that was carefully bandaged and stitched on the inside. She actually didn't want to commit suicide, but she had cut vertically and way too deep, she was going to the nurse's office to get bandages and that was when she met Chuck.....ah! Chuck! She recalled.

"Seriously I'm fine" she said again when they gave her look of disbelief

"Physically yes but mentally no, you'll have to see a therapist"

"Mum!" She almost yelled "I don't want to, seriously?"

"Why? You want change school and your identity again?" Her mum questioned

Toni stayed quiet for a while, that was initially her plan to start afresh, but the only thing holding her back was Chuck, she didn't want to leave him.

"It was a mistake, things happened in a totally different dimension. Just give me time, I need to think about some things, I need to make certain decisions"

"I'll give you time" her mom agreed to Toni's relief "But if you make any decisions concerning taking your life again, I swear I'm going to send you to rehab immediately"

"Mum" Toni called then she smiled a bit "Thanks mom"

"There's someone who wants to see you outside anyways"

"Who?" Toni prayed silently hoping it wasn't the person her mind was saying

"You didn't tell you were going out with Charles"

Toni's jaw dropped on surprise. He has met his parents, and now her mum won't stop talking about it. But that was not it, he probably knew she was from a very rich family and her name wasn't actually Toni Jasper. How on earth was she going to face him now.

"Not anymore" she told her mum

"Was that why....."

"Mum!" She cut her short "Just send him in"

"Okay" she pulled her husband out of the room leaving Toni alone for some moments before the door opened again and Chuck walked in. Toni looked up to look at him and Chuck did say, they stared at each other for a while a lot of things roaming through their mind and probably waiting for the other person to talk first, but Chuck spoke first

"How are you feeling?"

"Good I guess......" She said "well physically" she added

"I'm sorry" he apologized moving closer to where she was "It's my fault, I put you through all this and I didn't even notice any of this, I just went on blaming you when it wasn't even your fault"

"Are you going to cry?" She asked moving her hands to his face when tears were threatening to fall from his eyes "crying is something the girl should do"

"No" Chuck shook his head placing his hand on her hand on his face "For once, let me share your pain, let me cry all your tears for you, I don't want to see you cry ever again"

"Puppy" she called softly with small drops of tears falling from her eyes

"Damn! I missed hearing that, I missed my girl" he pulled her in for all a hug and Toni melted into his arms

"I missed my puppy" she hugged him tighter

"One more thing" Chuck said disengaging the hug "You didn't tell me your parents were totally wealthy and you behaved normal all this time"

"Do normal people attend our school?" Toni asked him

"That's right, but it didn't occur to me. You're really something"

Toni smiled a little and Chuck said again "Let's start afresh"

"But your dad....." Chuck placed a finger on her lips interrupting her

"Forget about the old man, he has to accept it sooner or later"

Toni pouted a bit but smiled afterwards which Chuck found to be very cute

"Come here" he placed his hands at the back of her head and pulled her in for a kiss

It was Friday and Lyn had missed school because she wanted to practice for the contest that evening.
It was evening and Lyn was getting ready when the door bell rang and she heard Ian scream from his room

"Lyn get the door, that should be Neal"

"What happened to your legs? And what is he even doing here" she screamed back

"Just get the door, will you?"

Lyn groaned before standing up to open the door. She opened the door to find Neal in his handsome glory but with an sexy smirk Lyn loved and hated at the same time

"What are you doing here?" She questioned him

"Ian invited me for a contest or something" Neal told her walking inside and making himself comfortable on a chair

"Why would Ian invite you to my contest"

"Jeez!" Neal laughed a bit "you're performing, that's something I definitely don't want to miss"

"Yea, you shouldn't. It could be a life experience for you"

"Bickering already?" Ian walked in giving them weird looks then he looked at Lyn instead "Go get your things, we'll be leaving soon"

It was a slow song, rhythmic and calm. It was very familiar to Neal, but the way she played it was unique, igniting the lost memories he had locked away. Everything was rushing back in, piecing themselves together to make perfect sense, he could remember. He could remember every detail, from the practice room, to the time they started living together, to their first kiss, to the show he put up to ask her out with the song he played that she played along with him, that was the very song that was hitting him hard now, that was the very song she was playing. The song he had wrote for the girl that would make his heart beat, the girl that would make him smile and that was her. The very girl sitting on that stage playing that song, the girl he loved, the girl he had forgotten and the girl he now remembers. He remembered everything, every single thing.

"Pizza....." He muttered quietly

Okay! I guess 5 more chapters to go and this book will be done.
