We Are the Freaks

We are the freaks.

We are the abnormal.

We are the creative.

We are the art.

We are the sketches. We are the paintings.

We are the melody. We are the rock. We are the roll.

We are the lyrics. We are the rhyme.

We are the poem. We are the imagery.

We are the genius. We are the math that meets science. We are the ultimate equation.

We are the storm. We are the eye.

We are the sun and the moon. We are the stars.

We are the enlightened mind. We are the Universe.

We are the yin. We are the yang.

We are the righteousness, the hope, the good. We are the unity through independence.

We are the unique. We are the differences.

We are the tattoos. We are the piercings.

We are the ones who mothers warn their kids not to be.

We are weird.

We are sometimes scared because we are a leap of faith.

But we are the proud. We are the strong.

We are the broken barriers. We are the new answers that have been discovered.

We are the change in the world that we long to see.

We are the ones who step up to the plate when everyone else complains about it not being done.

We are the fighters who stand up for what's right. We are the most peaceful form of anarchy.

We are that which is feared in society.

We are the freaks. And do you understand why they refer to us as such? It is because they detect our differences. And rather than open their minds and discover how we broke out of our confined boxes that our minds were once seized in, they choose to reject and ostracize us instead. We are disregarded like a poor maiden at a pretty, rich woman's party.

What they fail to realize is we ARE the rich. The rich in spirit, quality of life, love, passion.

We are the freaks. It is what we know best. It is all that we know.

We are the freaks. We cannot change. We will not change. We are the indomitable, firmly grounded, and the immovable.

We are the freaks. We now take it as a compliment when that is what we are referred to as.

We are the freaks. And we are damn proud.
