I loafed back on my bean bag, relaxing all my muscles and self after having completed the tiresome task of making my home immaculate. It was a rather daunting piece of work which emerged to be victorious to snatch away the peace of my mind. My today's entire day was oh so beautifully garnished with frenzies. First, that entire Vivaan debacle. Second: my mom running with high fever. Third: my aunt going to her native place due to the final exit of one of her realtives and fourth, me cleaning the entire house. Isn't it too much of a burden on the shoulders of a 16 year old? Yes, it is. And to the top of it, I have my exams nearing. What if my shoulders droop down due to this pressure or what if a hollow is created in my shoulders? Just imagine, a person whose shoulders are at the position of their chest, giving an extra long neck and extra low boobs. How funny that will look. Lollz...
Urghhh...
See, this is what hungry, moodless and tired Aaradhya is like. Too much of non sense in her head!
I stood up from my beanie, connecting my phone to the charger and then I made my way to the closet, removing a clean pair of yellow pyjamas which had different, dark coloured balloon designs all over it. My journey from the closet to the bathroom was interrupted by the choral and cheerful voice of my favourite boy band i.e. one direction. Instead of making my way to the bathroom, I headed towards the charging point and picked up my ringing phone.
"Hello Aaru, please help me out. I am locked here, the room at the end of the fourth floor, near the area which is under renovation", I could here the panic in her voice.
"Please, come fast. It's all dark over here. I don't know what to do. I am sweating and I just can't take it, please... just come here", she said, almost in a sob. Her voice was all wobbly and tremulous, making my blood run cold. I could feel the shivers in her voice. She was scared, she always was. Right from the childhood, her head used to get clouded with negative thoughts, her palms used to turn sweaty, her voice would go all brittle, whenever she was locked somewhere, especially somewhere in dark. I had to go there, for my best friend, who needed me right now. I didn't bother to change my mismatched, old pyjamas which had turned all grubby and dusty due to the cleaning process. I barged out of my room, my head full of worries. I tried to hide my pale face with a smile, with a cheerful and normal expression knowing that I had to pass through the living room which meant I had to pass through dad, uncle and Rohit.
"Dad, I am in the building ground, with Arjit", I lied, hoping he wouldn't catch me.
"It seems like it will rain."
"Please?"
"Be back by 11", he said, his eyes at me.
"Yup", I said, I guess over enthusiastically which caught Rohit's attention. He stopped whatever shoulder exercise he was doing in that red T-back, revealing his biceps- triceps whatever they call and a part of his toned back. I am sure, if he wasn't my brother, I would have instantly developed a crush on him.
"Aaru", he called me out, "Just a second, come over here."
I strode to him, lines of worry written all over my face.
"I have been noticing you since certain days, you seem to spend a good amount of time with Arjit. Is there anything I should know of as your brother? Are you both dating or is it that you have developed a liking for him?" This strange and sudden question that he managed to drop on me, made my eyes widen.
"Are you crazy? Don't give our beautiful friendship any name or tag as pathetic as 'dating'. He is my good... no... he is my close, very close friend. And right now, I am in a hurry. So tata, I have to leave", I waved him a bye and without waiting for his response, I vamoosed out of the house.
