Your POV

"Shane!" Is he even here? I peeked around the corner. Nope. Come on god dammit. If I were Shane Brandon McMahon and it were I and my best friend's 5 year anniversary of being best buds where would I be? Working of course. I sigh and knock on the door to his office.

No matter what day it was he would always be working. Even on his anniversary with his wife. Well, his ex-wife. Poor girl. He just always felt as if what he did for his dad's business was never enough so he kept working and working. He always felt as if he was being compared to what Triple H does. Hell, he even felt like everybody else liked Trips more than him. Everybody such as Stephanie and Vince.

Ever since he's returned he's felt unwanted. Like he's not suppose to be here. He knows that the gimmick where his dad favors his sister more is just scripted but he can't help feel as if he actually does. One time Vince was talking to Trips and accidentally called Man I really feel bad for Shane. He lost his wife and he might even be losing his so called family.

But that's what I'm here for. To help him. Not with his work, but with his actual problems. I don't know why he feels so insecure, he's a great guy. Heck I love the man. Heh, love is such a strong word. But how can you not love ol' Shane-o?

"Come in." My thoughts were interrupted by a drowsy voice. Has he slept? Has he even left his office? I opened the door and almost fell on a stack of papers. "Woah Shane are you okay?" He didn't even look up from his laptop. He just continued typing and writing down something next to him. I stomped my way over to him and slammed the laptop shut.

Oh no. Bad idea. "Y/N!" He glared at me. Well at least tried, he looked hella tired. "Shane!" I yelled back at him followed with a glare. "Have you slept at all? I'm really worried about you." I said in a more softer tone. He looked at his watch and mumbled something like 'Oh. That's the time.'

"Uhhh I haven't had a cup of coffee since I got here." Seriously? That wasn't even the question. I gave him a look that said 'Are you kidding me'. He gave me a dumbfounded look and I just sighed in return. Does he even know what today is? "Shane, you do realize what today is right?" He stated at me for a good 5 minutes before his eyes widened.

"Oh my god Y/N I'm so sorry please forgive me. Work has just been-" Every year it's he the same excuse and I give the same response. "It's okay I understand." He smiled and almost fell asleep right then and there. "Hey what if I take you to my place and we order some food while watching some old matches?"

"That sounds really fun but I have to finish my wor- you know what. It's our anniversary of being friends why not?" I smiled and grabbed him out of his chair. As we make our way to the parking lot some superstars gave Shane a questioning look. They rarely see Shane go out of his office since he either leaves really late or doesn't leave at all.

The car ride consisted of singing along to theme songs and laughing at each other's singing. We use to do this a lot when we first started being friends. Once Edge's song ended (I miss him and Jay/Christian so much ;-;) we were at my house. I made sure that Shane didn't bring his laptop because I wanted him to relax tonight.
