Monday morning
I wake up to the harsh sound of an alarm in the morning. I grudgingly turn it off and I am tempted to sleep another five minutes. However, when I look at the clock it reads 8:30 -school starts at 9:00.
"shoot! I'm going to be late."
I hastily get up and put on an old sweatshirt with the faded Julliard emblem on the front. I quickly pass a brush through my hair and slip into a pair of skinny jeans. I grab my binder and backpack -it's 8:40. After deciding to skip breakfast, I brush my teeth and pop a stick of gum in my mouth. I rush out of the house and quickly get to my car.
I look at my watch- it's 8:45.
"Not bad." I say to myself as I drive away.
I turned up the radio in an attempt to calm my nerves; and I soon find myself at ease to the sound of Mozart in the background.
When I finally arrive at school I rush to my locker and start putting my stuff away. I drop the sheet music of an etude I've been practicing, along with: a Julliard poster, a couple music note magnets, and a picture of my two best friends from the time when we went on a vacation together.
Seeing my closest friends always brought a smile to my face. Charisma was standing by my side with some stray brown curls framing her face, and a whole hearted smile was plastered on her face. Nathaniel was looming over us, you could barely see his face behind the black curtain of hair in the way.
After staring at the photo for a couple of moments, I went back to picking up the rest my belongings. I suddenly hear someone coming down the hall.
"Yes , yes , yes over here is the library, and the locker hall is over there."
I see my counselor coming closer with a stranger at her side.
"Is there a new kid at school?" I think to myself while closing my locker door.
"Stella Field? You are going to be late missy!"
I look up to find her and the presumed new student standing over me. I stare at him for a second before responding.
"Yes ma'am." I quickly stand up and walk away. I look back to the boy once more. He was distracted and didn't notice me.
