It's summer now. So the boys will be leaving for tour in a few weeks. So it will be just me, Lucy, and Nugget.
But, me and Lucy are moving today, so they'll be here to help us move.
They'll be here any minute. Lucy and I are packing up the silverware, fridge magnets, and everything we couldn't until today.
"Fable, why do we have so many magnets?" Lucy asks as she prys them off the fridge.
I don't look up from packing dishes. "Because magnets are cool, and generally pretty cheap." I tell her.
"But why do you need 3 cat magnets?" She pulls another one off and waves it at me accusingly.
"Because cats are cool, and people give them to me. And my great grandma had a thing for magnets. She had a fridge and a freezer covered in them. Everybody gave her one for Christmas. They remind me of her." I tell her.
She rolls her eyes, but leaves it alone.
There's a knock on the door. I get up to get it, taking a moment as all the blood rushes from my head.
Sam and Colby are on the other side. I let them in.
"Hey, how's it going?" Sam says, giving me a side hug.
"Good morning. It's going good, how are you guys?" I respond as I hug Colby.
"Good. Alright, what do you need us to do?" Sam asks.
I look around. "Well. I got the moving truck, it's outside. We gotta take the furnature first. Not bringing the couch, so we don't have to worry about that. But we have to get desks, some chairs, the table, a cople end tables and nightstands, and the boxes of new furnature. You up for it?" I ask. They nod.
"Alright, lets's get this show on the road." I clap my hands together.
I direct them to our bedroom to grab a matress. Then I grabbed a computer chair and fallowed them down to the truck.
Many loads later, and the truck is loaded. Our place is so small, it's only going to take 2 loads.
We grab Lucy, fill up my car with kitchen and bathroom stuff, and head off. Colby's driving the truck with Lucy, and Sam drives my car, with me in the passenger seat.
"It's on the other side of town, closer to your place, so we're gonna need music." I tell him, and plug in my mp3. I turn on Twenty One Pilots.
We jam while we drive, the others behind us in the truck. Then Heathens comes on.
"All my friends are heathens take it slow. Wait for them to ask you who you know." I sing along, looking out the window. "Please don't make any sudden moves. You don't know the half of the abuse."
We hit a stop light, and I turn to look at Sam, only to find him watching me as I sing. I snap my mouth shut.
"What?" I ask.
He shakes out of it, and we keep rolling.
"Nothing. I've just never heard you sing." He says. "Keep going."
I look at him weird, but keep going when it gets to the first verse.
"Welcome to the room of people who have rooms of people that they loved one day, docked away.
Just because we check or guns at the door doesn't mean our brains will change, from hand grenades.
You'll never know the psychopath sitting next to you,
You'll never know the murderer sitting next to you.
You'll think "How did I get here sitting next to you?".But after all I've said. Please don't forget."
I look over at Sam. He's smiling. I look back at the road and keep singing along, breaking to give him directions.
