Fighting Like a Married Couple

Narrator's POV

"Hey Shadow!" Yelled a blue hedgehog, throwing a rock at the back of the head that belonged to a ted streaked hedgehog.

"I don't have time for this." Stated Ebon, flipping through files on a tablet.

"Oh come on, we haven't even touched each other." Smirked the blue one playfully.

"Don't you see I'm trying to find a missing woman?"

"Oh, probably don't understand what I'm saying..." The blue one had a plan to tick his dark twin off. "...because you're too dumb to understand." Shadow stopped in his tracks.
"I would dumb it down to your level, but I don't speak Dumish."

If the Ebony could, he'd be boiling in anger by now. He turned back to Azure. "Don't you see? You must be dumber than me, if you don't understand that I'm trying to help a citizen!" Growled the Ebony.

"And what if I told you I had Tails hack into your tablet and place a fake case?" Smiling Sonic, but didn't last long due to a fist connecting to his face.

That's what I need...

Thought the blue one. He got up and kicked his opponent down. The black one got up. "I don't have time for this!" Shadow pushed Sonic against a tree.

"Seems to me you have plenty of time." Sonic poked Shadow's chest fur with his finger. "Oops..." He said smiling.

"You're gonna regret that..."

-Later-

The two hedgehogs were in the back seat of Rouge's jeep all covered in dust and burns, soon cuts that bled. The cuts were caused by personal insults such as Maria and The Ark; also Sonic's family and friends.

The car was silent, Rouge was angry; and the two hedgehogs in the backseat knew it.

"Rouge I-" Started Shadow.

"Urgh! You guys act like a married couple who hate each other! You always end up breaking things, sometimes each other... I'm always the one to take care of it at the end. I'm very disappointed, especially with you Shadow..." She looked at him through the mirror.

Shadow kept his feelings in and just looked out the window. "Mph..." That hurt him deeply, he'd let his fellow companion down. He sat there with his arms crossed, staring at the city.

"We're really sorry Rouge. We didn't mean to cause all the damage." Sonic looked down. "I take full responsibility for what happens today, I started it. It was a prank gone wrong." He stated, embarrassed.

"I appreciate this Sonic, but something has to be done about this." She sighed.

"What do you mean?" Asked Shadow, looking at her. She handed them a small piece of paper.

"The court and I have been talking about this. I tried everything I could to keep you here, but I couldn't argue with their case. You'll be receiving a letter with more information soon." She stated.

"Great, just what I needed..."

"Whoa, Rouge. We know what we've done, but we're not kids. We don't need to go to some camp that teaches you things you already know." Sonic argued.

"Sonic, I didn't have a choice..." She sighed.

"Let's not forget whose fault this is." Shadow growled.

"Shadow, cool it." Rouge warned.

"So this entire thing is my fault?" Sonic looked over at Shadow.

"Yeah! If it weren't for your ignorance of the warnings, we wouldn't be in this mess!" Shadow poked Sonic's chest.

"Why you..." Sonic growled.

"Shadow stop it, right now!" Rouge tried her best to stop them.

"Come at me Little Boy Blue..." Shadow hissed. Sonic removed his seatbelt and jumped on Shadow. Shadow removed his as well and began to throw fists.

"You better stop it or I'm gonna stop this car and go back there!" Rouge shouted. They didn't listen.

"Take this!" Sonic shouted in the back.  There were growls and groans. Rouge stepped in the break suddenly. They both flew against the front seats and hit the floorboard. There was a loud honk and a horrible screech.

"Urgh..." They groaned.

There was a loud scream from Rouge. She hit her head against the stirring wheel, causing the car to honk loudly. They two hedgehogs stopped their groaning and paid attention to her. "You two have me up to here!" She turned back to them. Her face was all red, and tears formed at her eyes. "I tried! I tried to keep you here, and all you do in response is fight! Seems like you guys really want to leave this town... Please...please boys. Please try to behave, I love you guys so much. Please, just make these few days last." She said with tears falling from her face, she gave a sniff.

The two only looked at each other and cleared their throats. They sat back down and buckled up. Many cars were honking at them. Rouge sighed.

"Thank you..." She said and finally drove. The car ride back home was quiet, very. It seemed that even the tiers tried their best to be quiet, as well. The radio was off. The wind quit blowing. Just silence, no one said a thing...their breathing was also quiet.

Rouge dropped Sonic off at his house.

"Um Rouge, I can walk home from here." Shadow stated.

"Are you sure?"

"Yeah..." Shadow got off. "Enjoy the rest of your day." Shadow said closing the car door an walking away. He walked home with his hands in his pockets.
