Raven POV
I sprinted down the steps and through the lobby of the hotel. I could feel it coming. It was getting close. No matter as fast as I ran, my human strength and speed was no match this for this thing. Whatever who, what, it, he, she is, it's not mortal. I saw a cab outside of the hotel. Jumping in I threw five, twenty dollar bills at the driver.
"Step On it!" I yelled.
We sped away from the hotel and I sighed with relief. As the driver got onto 485 the feeling of danger left me. I laid my head on the tinted glass window and passed out.

I woke up to bright lights and someone shaking me. I jerked up and tried to become aware of my surroundings. We were parked at a 7/11 gas pump.
"Hey umm.... look I don't know who you are but you jumped in my cab and threw a hundred dollars at me to take you somewhere and I don't know where that place is. " Said a guy with dark chocolate skin and beautiful light brown eyes.
"Hey, sorry I'm Raven." I said putting out my hand.
"Trey" He stated.
"So where are we?" I asked.
"At the 7/11 right outside of the Baltimore line."
"Can you drop me off at Dirty Angels?" I asked hesitantly. "It's a club downtown. I don't have a lot o money left though."
"Don't worry you're covered." He said putting the car in drive.
We got back on the highway. Knowing that this would be at least an hour ride, I took out my phone and started reading 'The Fault In Our Stars' by John Green.
"There is an infinite between 0 and 1. There's .1 and .12 and .112 and an infinite collection of others. Of course there is a bigger infinite set of numbers between 0 and 2, or between 0 and a million. Some infinities are bigger than other infinities. A writer-"
"So why do you want me to drop you off a a club?" Trey asked, cutting off my focus.
"I work there." I stated.
"Oh so are you like a stripper?"
"No" I said offended. "I'm a waitress."
"Coolbeans."
Throughout the next ten minutes he kept glancing at me in the rear view mirror. I wish I knew what he was thinking. I heard about the new serial killer in the area but he hasn't tried to kill me yet so I guess I shouldn't be worried. Still, it creeped me out.
"Do you have a problem?" I snapped,
"I'm sorry I can't help that you're insanely beautiful." He said.
"Sorry but I don't do the love thing." I told him blushing.
"Who said it was love?" He asked me.
I didn't say anything and looked out my window. The silence only lasted five minutes.
"So where did your mom get Raven from?" He asked.
"Where are all these questions coming from?" I asked back; getting annoyed.
"Hey, you might want to be nice to me. You might need someone to give you an emergency ride one day." He told me with a smirk on his face.
"Maybe, maybe not"
Soon we pulled up to Dirty Angels and the car stopped. I got out and and knocked on his window.
"Ready to take up that offer already?" He asked with a smile.
"No I'm just saying thanks." I said.
"No problem Ray Ray."
"Don't call me that!" I yelled to him while walking into the club. Smiling as I heard his laughter behind me.

It was five in the morning and the club music finally stopped. The last few people at the club were either employees or drunk people who never seem to know when to go home. I walked to the kitchen and saw my cousin Cookie washing the last few dishes.
"Yo wassup" I said hugging her from behind.
"Hey" She responded.
"So I need a place to crash tonight."
"Again?" She whined.
"I'm sorry but I get paid tomorrow and I promise I'll be out your apartment as soon as possible." I said all in one breath.
"Fine" She huffed.

I woke up in a sweat and felt a presence with me. It was here and my bet was that it never left, just followed me.
