"G-g-g-g-g-girl you really got me now, you got me so I can't sleep at night. Aaaah!" Dave screamed as the crowd went nuts. I was beaming, and I looked to my left and to my happiness Mary was standing there backstage watching. When Dave sang "You really got me" again, I pointed at Mary. She laughed and waved.
"Alright!" Dave started. "That was fun, huh?! That was for all the GIRLS OUT THERE TONIGHT! YEAH! Okay, now Edward, if you please, let's do a classic."
I nodded and started the intro of 'Sunshine Of Your Love' by Cream. I looked back to look at Mary again, but she was gone. My heart dropped a bit because I knew she was going to talk to Erik. However, the show must go on. And I know she has Charlie with her. I had to stay focused. I looked back at the crowd, then at Dave, who put his arm around me and began singing, "I'm with you my love.."

"Great show tonight, guys!" Someone said to us.
"You guys rocked it out there!" Another voice said.
I wasn't paying attention, however. I was looking around to find Mary. And then I found Charlie. Without Mary. My heart dropped.
"Hey Charlie, where's Mary?" I asked the tall, bulky man.
   He shrugged. "Dunno."
"You don't know?" I asked, angered. "How-"
"Woah, woah. Easy, Ed. I wasn't told that I had to babysit the kid. What's the matter?"
"Uhm, well she-she told me you would go with her to talk to Erik." I said, frustrated, confused, worried. "I-I, why didn't she ask you?"
"I don't know. Sounds like you're afraid for her to be around Erik?"
"Yeah, man. He's been acting really controlling around her. He thinks they're going to get married or some shit."
   "They're together?"
"No. But he thinks they are. She was going to talk to him tonight to get him to leave her alone. Said she'd ask you to stand by just in case it got ugly. Please, help me find her. I'm really worried.."
"Yeah, of course. Let's check out back."
"Thanks man. Sorry for snapping at you earlier."
    "It's no worries. I understand."
We went around the corner and opened the door to the back of the arena. There were no signs of them; however, there was a light on in the tour bus. I could barely breathe as I made my way over.
I opened the door, Charlie trailing behind me. I heard whimpers. My anger boiled as I bolted to the back to see Erik on top of my girlfriend, her under him crying.
"Oh FUCK NO." I yelled as I ripped that bastard off of her. Thank god he still had his pants zipped up. I punched the motherfucker in the face. He fell down, and I pounced on him. I didn't care anymore. My fists were flying in his face, even at his dick. The first punch below the belt sent him screaming. I did it again and he began to cry.
I kept hitting him everywhere. His eyes began to turn purple. His face was bleeding. His chest was already bruising. Finally, I got tired and stood up to rest. I looked up. First at Charlie. He stood there, leaning against the doorway, arms folded. I then looked at Mary. She sat on the bed that was in the very back, looking down, silent. Her shirt and pants were off. Mascara stains covered her cheeks.
I looked back down at Erik. He lay silently crying and panting. I didn't even care. If it wasn't illegal, I could kill him. He looked so pitiful. I spit on him and leaned down to his face. "I told you not to hurt Mary. If you EVER lay a hand on her again, you will be sorry. This was just a warning. Stay away from my girl."
I got up and went over to Mary. She was crying. I wrapped my arms around her and began to cry too.
   "I'm so sorry," I whispered.
"What are you sorry for, Ed? You didn't do anything."
"I'm sorry for not protecting you. I'm sorry for not asking you to wait until the show was over."
"Eddie, you couldn't have stopped this from happening. You can't just stop a show to stop him."
"I could've asked you to wait."
"Well, you didn't. And it's okay. It's not your fault. I'm just so grateful you came when you did. He was about ready to-"
"Why didn't you get Charlie?" I asked, because I needed to know and because I didn't want her to explain any further.
"Because Erik pulled me aside to talk to me first. And I couldn't find Charlie. I honestly thought it wouldn't come to this, Ed. I didn't want to believe it would.."
I held her as she cried again. By this time, Charlie was gone. And so was Erik. I'm assuming he took him and I just didn't notice. I knew eventually I would have to get the details of what happened tonight, but for now I was going to hold her until she was ready to speak again. I felt so awful; like I hadn't done enough. I know she was right; that I couldn't stop what happened, but I still felt guilty. I constantly looked at the blood on the floor to remind myself some justice was served tonight..
