Chapter 23

I woke up to Maci jumping on my bed. 

"What the hell?" I yelled.

"Ssshh wouldn't want your family to hear," she smirked.

"What the fu- what time is it?" I asked.

"11:00 am," she answered. 

"Shit. Why are they here already? When did you get here?" I asked.

"Well I got here about an hour ago and I was just talking with your mum then watched tv. Then the bell rang about 20 minutes ago and they appeared. Your mum was shocked too. I honestly have no idea. Their plane must have left at like 4 am or something," she said.

"Why do they even want to be here this early?" I was so confused.

"How the hell would I know?" she replied. I just flung back into my bed. She tugged on my arm.

"C'mon you are not making me face them on my own," she grumbled. I groaned.

"I'll pick out an outfit for you. Go take a shower," she said and I got up. I slowly made my way to the shower. After I was washed I got out and made my way back into my room. Maci picked out some ripped jeans with a 5 Seconds of Summer t-shirt. I smiled and put it on. After I brushed and dried my hair we went down stairs. As we got down there I saw Derek. He looked like he had just woke up. I laughed a little as my aunt came up and gave him a kiss on the cheek. He glared at me and I quickly shook my head. 

"Hey auntie look Annabelle's awake," he said loudly. I glared at him and stuck my middle finger out. Aunt Lorie came over to me. Maci 'slyly' walked away. Fucking bitches leaving me alone to fend for my self. Not cool.

"Ohh Annabelle you look so grown up," Lorie smiled. Look grown up? Bitch I am grown up. I am engaged. I didn't say that out loud though. 

"Hahahaha thank you," I mumbled awkwardly. My phone buzzed. I looked at it. It was a call from Matthew.

"Excuse me Lorie. I have to take this," I said and walked away. I looked at Maci and she followed. I quickly picked up.

"You are my savior." I said.

"Um hi to you to. I was just wondering what we were gonna do today," he replied. 

"How cold is it outside?" I asked.

"It's actually pretty hot out," he answered. I covered the phone and looked at Maci. 

"Wanna borrow a swim suit and hang in the pool?" I asked. She nodded. I put the phone back to my ear. 

"Wanna come over and swim with me and Maci?" I asked.

"Sure be over in about half an hour," he said. 

"Ok text me when you get here because I need to make sure I let you in. Long story," I said. 

"Ok," he said cautiously then hung up. Maci and I snuck back upstairs and changed. We stayed in my room for about 20 minutes. Then when we got hungry we went downstairs. I got a text from Matthew saying he was here. I told him to wait until he saw me at the door. I went past the living room quietly. Mum saw me but I mouthed Matthew and she nodded ever so slightly. I walked to the door and looked out. He got out of his car and walked up.

"Hey what's-"

"Ssshh. My family is here and they don't know we're dating. I don't want them to know cause that's all they'll talk about for the next year. So quietly go past the living room and out back. Maci's outside," I said and he nodded before giving me a kiss on the cheek. I smiled a little then shut the door quietly. We made it past the living room fine but once we got to the kitchen I saw Lorie. I dragged Matthew up the stairs.
