Quite some time now!
It was a sunny day in Republic City and Tenzin and Lin were in their teen years. Tenzin always had a crush on Lin, but he was too shy to tell her. Therefore, he asked his siblings for advice.
Bumi: c'mon Tenzin, I taught how to be a lady's man
Kya: you are not a lady's man anyway
Bumi: oh yes I am
Kya: what woman do you have?
Bumi: a whole lot
Kya: the only woman you have is in your dreams
Bumi: HEY! At least my boyfriend did not leave me for some tramp
Kya: *slaps Bumi* how dear you speak about him
Tenzin: uh guys...you're not helping
Kya: *smacks Bumi's head* he started it
Bumi: No, I did not
Kya: yes you did
Kya and Bumi are always fighting about something. Tenzin was the youngest and probably the sanest one between them.
Tenzin: okay guys, that's enough *breaks them up*
Kya: okay, I will stop
Bumi: me too
Tenzin: good, now help me
Kya: well Tenzin, have you ever even talked to Lin
Tenzin: oh yes lots of times...when we are in school, training, and walking home together
Kya: have you ever told her how you feel about her
Tenzin: No, I haven't
Kya: Why? All those times, this never came up
Bumi: because he is a loser
Kya: shut up Bumi
Bumi: make me
Kya: DAD!
Aang: yes darling
Kya: Bumi called Tenzin a loser
Aang: Bumi, what have I told you about calling your brother names

Aang: No buts...young man, as punishment you do the dishes after the party

Aang: *picks up Bumi and goes avatar state* what did I just say
Bumi: *says in a terrified voice* do the dishes
Aang: *gets back to normal* okay, now run along kids *leaves*
Bumi is afraid of his father especially when he goes in the Avatar state.
Kya: Now that he has gone let, us talk, so you never spoke to her about this
Tenzin: nope not at all, I guess I'm too shy, Kya what should I do
Kya: I know, maybe you should write her a letter; you were always a good writer. Tell her how you feel about her
Tenzin: that's a great idea Kya *hugs her* thanks
Kya: *hugs back* no problem little brother...*before leaving* remember to be romantic and be truthful too
Tenzin: Kya wait *stops her* when I'm done can you read it for me, if you don't mind
Kya: Of course, Tenzin tell me when you are done...now start writing
Tenzin begins to write the letter for Lin. As he went on describing the qualities that he adores from her he smiles, while writing. Tenzin wrote the whole page full of his feelings towards Lin. When he was done, his mother called him.
Katara: Tenzin!!
Tenzin: yes mom
Katara: can you and Kya help me prepare for the party please
Tenzin: yes mom, just let me find Kya
Tenzin went looking for Kya. Not knowing that she was with this person from school was her ex-boyfriend. Tenzin noticed their conversation and eavesdrop.
Rin: Kya look I am sorry for what I did to you
Kya: Rin, you cheated on me with that girl...I was heartbroken
Rin: I know and I am sorry, I wish that I didn't lose you, you were my everything, my heartstrings, my soul, my first and true love. Kya I love you.
Kya: Aww, I love you too, Rin
Rin lends into Kya to kiss her...but then Tenzin broke them up
Tenzin: Kya, mom called you
Kya: sorry Rin, I have to go
Rin: it's okay see you tomorrow then
Kya: no, you should stay for the party
Rin: okay sounds nice
Tenzin: ugh... really *pulls Kya to the side* Kya I am finish writing the letter, please read it
Kya: okay, uh Rin make yourself useful and help my brother while I attend to something
Rin: okay let's go lil bro
Tenzin: little?
As Rin and Tenzin helps Katara with the preparations for the party, Kya went to check the letter. As she goes to read it she is amazed at the things that Tenzin said about Lin. She cried because of how beautiful it was. When she was done, she placed it back to the table and went to help the others. Meanwhile Bumi was watching her read the letter. Therefore, Bumi decided to look at the note. Thinking that the note was from Rin to give to Kya, Bumi took the letter and hid it somewhere where no one can find it.
Bumi: this is for all the trouble you caused me *hides letter in his secret place* that is for getting me in trouble
