We made it to my house in one piece. The boys cleared my yard of snow and the horse stables. I jumped down from the ledge of snow and let Naruto off my back gently. Takashi was attending the horses with Gai and the other three men were nowhere to be seen.
“Please make yourself at home, you may sleep in my room.” he went to protest but I lifted a hand. “It’s no big deal.”
“Okay… thank you so much!” he bowed his head down in respect after he said that. I patted his head and smiled.
“Like I said, no big deal. Now let’s go inside and you can help me prepare lunch.” he grinned and cheered to himself and we skittered inside like two freezing cats. I took off my cloak and draped it onto the mantle above the fireplace so it would dry and Naruto did the same for his bright orange jacket. Underneath his jacket was a green T-shirt with the Uzumaki clan sign printed on it.
We went into the kitchen and Naruto stared in awe about how magnificent everything was. I took out the cookbook I had and flipped through a few pages until I found what I was looking for.
“Italian pizza. Perfect and easy to make. I’m positive you’ve never tried it. Hello Kakashi-san.” I greeted. Kakashi came in at the middle of my sentence and sat himself at the table with a book.
“Hello Teale. Who is this?” Kakashi asked curiously. I gave him a warm smile and pointed to Naruto.
“This is Uzumaki Naruto, our new guest that will be staying with us until the storm is over.” I said and I saw the smile from beneath his mask.
“Lovely. My name is Hakate Kakashi.” he nodded towards Naruto and he waved, almost bursting with confidence.
“Hi!! I’m going to be the Hokage some day! Believe it!” I rolled my eyes and I swore I saw Kakashi do the same.
“I’m sure you will, kid.” was Kakashi’s doubtful reply. I casted Naruto a look.
“I believe you will go far one day. Very far.” I acknowledged and he beamed up at me.
“Do you really think so??” he grinned and I nodded.
“I know so. And I know many things. You’re going to be Konoha’s hero one day.” he almost jumped up and down spewing with excitement.
“Wow!” he let out loudly.
We made three pizza’s together, and even got Kakashi to try and toss the dough in the air- to which was a great success for him for it being his first time ever tossing dough. I got Kakashi to go round up the others and we all sat down for our pizza feast.
“This looks so good! But how do I even eat it?” Gai asked confusingly. I let out a sigh.
“You pick it up and eat it This is Italian pizza.” I plucked a slice of pizza and demonstrated to everyone how to eat the pizza.
That night, everyone was downstairs playing pool. I was in my room with the door locked and sitting on my bed naked- fresh out of the shower. I looked over to my nightstand and saw a picture in a beautiful picture frame.
A little boy, with blonde hair and bright blue eyes stood, smiling from ear to ear. I was holding this boy, with a bright smile myself.
I smiled sadly, before quickly looking away to remove some of the pain and agony. I needed to let go of him. He wasn’t going to come back from the dead.
I knew this much, I was a reaper.
But this little boy, he meant so much to me. And I was the one who had to end it for him. This was one of the downsides to knowing when everyone around you died. Because this included your loved ones.
This includes your friends.
This includes your family.
Everyone.
