" We can walk from here " Alex announced, and Peter pulled over and we all jumped out of his truck.
" Thanks Peter " Layla said.

We walked home silently, if we were loud someone could hear us and jump us. Even though we were in our own territory, the threat was still present. The Silver Flames were known for being particularly violent. My gang, D.A.G.G.E.R.S usually just sold pot and stole things for money. Silver Flame's main source of income was beating people up and prostitution, and sometimes even murder.

" Where the hell is Johnny ? " Risha whispered, and the whole group got scared.
" Good Lord, did anyone see where he went ? " I cried.
" Alex, you go with the girls and look for him in the park. Stay close. Layla, you got a blade, right ? " Allen suggested.
" Yeah " she replied.
" I'll look in the woods " he said.

" Adeline Mary Larson, you better be careful. We can't loose you like we did Mom and Dad " my brother warned. I could barely see him but I knew he was scared too. Alex isn't scared of anything, so that's saying something.
" I'll be okay " I promised. I was terrified beyond words, I had heard stories in the paper of people getting kidnapped or worse. I kept telling myself that it would be okay since Layla and I had a weapon and we were with other people. I was wrong.

It was pitch black and I could hardly make out the swing set. The streetlights had been broken for years.

" Risha, you go look with Alex. Addie, come with me " Layla offered.
" No ! We can't split up that's a terrible idea ! " I said.
By now tears of fear and anger ran down my face. I didn't know what I was angry at, though. My heads sort of messed up on account of something going wrong when I was born. I feel things and I don't know why.
" The kid's right, we gotta stick together " Alex agreed.
" Alright. Let's check around the merry - go - round " Layla advised.
" Okay. Addie don't worry, we'll find him " my brother whispered, looking staight at me and holding my face so that I couldn't look away. That's one thing I absolutely hated - looking people in the eye. It was weird and I never understood the purpose of it.

Alex didn't say that just to seem nice, he said it because he cared about me. Most older brothers hated their little sisters, and we did fight sometimes, like most siblings do. Before my parents died we were close, but after they died he rarely talked to anyone. The whole time I thought he hated me, but then I realised it was because he didn't want to loose me or Allen, too. That was his biggest fear, loosing another person he loved.

" Don't be scared, me and Layla will beat the living daylight out of whoever's got Johnny " my brother explained. How did he know I was scared ?

We searched as best as we could around the merry - go - round. There was no sign of Johnny. He wasn't under the bench or the slide or anywhere.

Suddenly, I heard something in the bushes. My heart nearly stopped and my eyes got wide. I wanted to run away and scream and never come back, but we had to find Johnny.
" You want your friend back ? Come do me a favor " someone said so quiet I could barely hear him. Whoever said it sounded like someone older than me.
" W - what do y - you want " I stuttered.
" Come back here, do me a favor and I'll let your friend go " he explained.
I tried to come up with something to do. I knew it was a trap. I figured I could go back there, scare the guy and get Johnny out. I had a knife so I thought I could take him out easily.
" Alright. Deal " I said. I climbed over the bush and saw the worst thing I've ever seen in my whole life . Johnny was pinned to the ground by 2 strong - looking guys with a rag shoved into his mouth and a knife held against his throat.
" W - what do you want " I asked.
" You. That's what we want " the guy said. It was Jim. The same person who almost beat me up. I reached into my shoe and flicked out my knife.

I felt a pair of arms grab me from behind and a hand rip my dress open. I almost fell down at the horrifying action. I wanted to scream but I knew better. If I made a sound, he would kill me.

I think it's pretty self - explanatory what happened next.
