Frank and I had been friends since we were kids. We practically did everything together from eating to sleeping. As soon as we started high school, everything changed. People were rude to us and they would call us things like 'homo' and 'cocksuckers'. It wasn't pleasant.
Just like any other school day, Frank and I rushed to our classrooms just before the bell went.
'Just in time, Mr. Iero and Mr. (Y/L/n). Please refrain from being so irresponsible in the future.' Our teacher scolded.
'Y-Yes, sir. We're sorry.' I stuttered as Frank and I made our way to the back of the classroom.
'Fucking dickhead...' Frank mumbled under his breath as we both took our seats.
'What was that, Mr. Iero?' The teacher shouted, slamming his fist on the table. Frank barely flinched, yet I was practically trembling.
'Nothing, sir.' He rolled his eyes.
'Maybe you'd like to come up here and start us off then.' The teacher smirked, gesturing for Frank to come up front.
'No thank you.' Frank replied, pulling out his textbooks.
'(Y/n)? How about you?' The teacher cocked his eyebrow in an incredibly smug manner.
'N-No, sir.' I kept my head down, taking small glances at Frank.
''No, sir.'' One of the people in the row in front of me imitated with a stupid voice. 'He's such a-'
'Hey, shut up!' Frank shouted at him, snacking his fists against the table.
'Mr. Iero! Can we please have one class without you yelling at other students.
'But sir! Jeremy was being rude!'
'I don't care. Jeremy is a good student who deserves the luxury of being here, unlike you! Clean up your act!' He shouted as Frank clenched his fists in anger. His eyes began to glow a bloody red colour, but I pretended to ignore it as always.
It's something that I had ignored since I was young. When Frank was angry, his eyes would go a fiery red. Frank did a lot of strange things like throwing up late at night when he thought I was asleep to sniffing rooms whenever he entered them. Sometimes, he'd disappear for days on end without telling me. But, I had grown accustomed to it.
I placed my hand on Frank's knee, looking into his blood red eyes.
'Frank, ignore them.' I forced a smile, hoping it'd make him happy. He only nodded, but kept his eyes on the teacher. Every so often, Frank would lick his lips and bite down hard with his fang-like teeth. After two hours of class, Frank and I headed to snack. We always hid at the back of the school during these times so no one could find us. As we sat down on the warm grass, Frank began to speak.
'Fucking hell...I hate this place.'
'I know, Frank. I hate it too.' I replied.
'The only reason I still come here is for you! Other then that, this school is hell! I hate the fucking confession booth most of all! Every time I go in, I have to 'confess to God' how many times I fucking jacked off to thoughts of dicks! It's bullshit!' He ranted on.
Dicks? Wait, Frank's gay? Holy shit, I've never known this! Maybe I...maybe I do have a shot with him...
'Say, uh, Frank...I have something to tell you...' I mumbled, looking over at the enraged man.
'What?' He grunted as he kicked the wall of the building. The loud bang startled me, almost making me scream.
'U-Um...never mind. You're obviously too mad for my bullshit.' I muttered as I stated down at the grass, twiddling my thumbs. Frank quickly noticed my discomfort and kneeled in front of me.
'Sorry..please, tell me what's bothering you.' Frank's eyes went back to their normal greenish brown colour as a soft smile spread across his face.
'I-I uh...I don't know..maybe I shouldn't tell you. I mean, what if someone hears me? I'd be bent over a table if a teacher herd me..' I sighed before looking deep into Frank's eyes.
'No one will hear you. Don't worry. If you need to get something off your chest, do it. You know I don't judge you.' He placed his hand on my cheek, making my face heat up and my heart jackhammer through my chest.
'Okay...I-I um...I'm gay...' I finally admitted, almost tearing up. I couldn't help but feel ashamed. Ever since I started coming to this school, they taught us that being gay way horrible and that you should be punished for it. The moment I said it, I felt like busting into tears. A few tears streamed down my face as I looked down.
'Hey, hey...don't cry...it's okay. I get it. I understand. I'm gay too.' He grinned before softly placing his forehead on mine.
'F-Frank I...I love-'
'Hey! Look at these two fags!' A loud voice boomed, startling me and Frank. As we turned towards the voice, we noticed Jeremy and his friends all with the same evil grin.
'So, you two really are fags!' A taller man laughed behind Jeremy.
'Fuck off! Before I-'
'Before you what? Hurt me? You couldn't if you tried.' Jeremy approached Frank before pushing him. Frank only stumbled back a few steps, but it was enough to make his blood red eyes return.
'What's up with your eyes? Is that some sort of gay emo voodoo or somethin'?' He laughed before shoving Frank again. I quickly stood up and grabbed Frank's hand.
'C-C'mon, Frank. Let's le-' I was suddenly pushed up against the wall by Jeremy. His large hand was tightly wrapped around my neck, almost cutting off my air. My head slammed against the wall, almost knocking me out.
'Wha'do you think you're doin'? Jeremy spat, staring at my pleading expression.
'P-Please...leave Frank alone...' I barely coughed out before feeling his hand tighten around my neck.
''Please leave Frank alone!' He imitated with another silly voice. 'You're such a joke!'
Frank suddenly rammed his fist right into Jeremy's face, making him fall to the ground gasping.
'Leave him alone!' Frank shouted as we both ran away.By the time Frank and I got far enough, the bell rang for third period.
'Fuck...we need to ge-' I cut Frank off by cupping his cheeks and smacking my lips into his. He was surprised at first, but soon he kissed me back, sliding his hands around my waist. When we pulled away, he saw me crying.
'I-I'm sorry Frank! I was about to tell you I love you but then Jeremy was there and I was being so stupid and I just...fucking hell! I love you Frank! I love you so much!' I practically screamed as I wrapped my arms around his waist and sobbed loudly.
'Hey...it's okay. I love you too...what happened there wasn't your fault. Now c'mon. Let's go to class.' He smiled before pecking my lips carefully.
'O-Okay...'
He wrapped his arm around my waist as we both slowly walked to class, taking sneaky looks at each other.
