I stare down at my new uniform feeling suffocated. The straps around my legs and torso felt unpleasant, as if they were imbedded into my skin.

"Is that too tight (f/n)?" Hanji asks.

I blink twice, looking at the brunette. I was instructed to address her as Squad Leader Hanji, but the hyperactive female advised that I call her Hanji and nothing more.

"It's fine, I'll adjust." I answer flashing her a genuine smile.

Hanji returns with a brighter smile, "let's show Erwin and Captain Shorty." She snorts.

She takes me by the wrist and practically hauls me from her room to Erwin's office.

Hanji seemed to be the only superior that accepted me into the Scouting Legion.

The other superiors seem to dislike the idea of a robotic creature lurking around. Or they feel intimidated by the idea of being challenged. I was told that I was quite vigorous and intelligent, even though I don't see myself that way. I compare myself to a scrap of paper being tossed around by the wind, or an uncooked potato.

Being the only robotic creation ever invented, Hanji had great interest in me. She had been spending most of her free time with me and each time she did something different. If it wasn't examining my wires, she tried to program me by saying different sets of codes that made no sense - just to see what could happen.

If I could I would laugh at it, but laughing isn't in my programming. At least, I didn't believe it was.

Reaching Erwin's office, Hanji barges in without warning. I expected the two to be productive, instead, they were sitting across from each other and examining a medium sized book.

Hanji didn't even get the chance to speak. She was interrupted by Levi who spoke in code.

"FC7." He says aloud.

I felt a jolt of electricity rush through me. I twitched at the neck and, without warning, I swung my fist towards Hanji. Luckily, she had reacted just in time before I actually hurt her.

I stood in preparation, eyeing Hanji. I didn't know why, but I was being controlled in some way. My leg immediately swung in her direction, but she ducked in the same second.

I used all my strength to not attack, but I couldn't help but obey.

Levi finally spoke, "Cancel FC7."

Erwin nodes, as if he were approving of my actions. I felt my body shut down with another shock. I straightened from preparation and immediately apologized to Hanji. She only laughed.

"That was impressive, Dr. Kanou did well." Erwin comments.

Levi tosses the flimsy book aside and stands from his seat. "Yeah, yeah. I guess she will do."

I stood in an uncertain and confused state, unable to process their thinking. Erwin caught my expression and cleared his throat.

"(F/n), this here is a manual," Erwin points to the gray cover of the book, "it is filled with several codes and everything there is to know about you. You are not allowed to read it nor have it in your possession."

Hanji wiggled her eyebrows, "being her superior and all, could I-"

"No, she is my property." Levi interrupts.

My eyes seem to bounce all over the room. I follow the shapes if their mouths and listened to the words until I felt myself twitch. At some point they were just arguing about nonsense. At some point the door opens. The three stop and stare at the opening door in silence.

A tall brunette male enters the room caring a stack of papers. His teal eyes are wide at the sight of his superiors.

"Did I interrupt something...?" The teen asks.

His eyes lay on me and he proceeds to place the stack of papers on the flimsy table. Levi stares at him with a scowl, but he remains silent.

"I didn't know we had a new recruit." Eren smiled brightly.

I try and smile in return but Levi gave me an intimidating stare that was meant to warn me.

"Her name is (f/n)!' Hanji exclaims.

"Hanji, don't say a word," Erwin commands. He faces the brunette, "Eren, thank you for dropping off the paperwork I asked for. You didn't see (f/n) and you will not mention her. Understood?"

Eren swallows hard as he glances at Levi who melted him with a death glare. Eren slowly nods and leaves the room.

I was so bewildered by everything that just occurred. First, I almost kill Hanji. Then, I find out there's a book that knows more about me than I know about myself. And now, a harmless little boy named Eren is scared for his life because he saw me.

Could this day be anymore confusing?

I feel a warm hand on my shoulder, "(f/n). It is very important that you stay out of sight from the trainees until the 57th expedition."

And now I am truly confused.

Levi locks me in his room for the night.

Everyone is in Mess Hall eating supper while I sit in the middle of the floor doing nothing.

I was asked if I as hungry, but I didn't know how to respond. When will I be hungry?

I didn't understand anything. I didn't know what was happening or what Levi and Erwin's intentions were. All I know is that I have to obey him.

Levi enters his room with a loaf of bread. My eyes follow the raven haired male as he makes his way to his desk. His weight sinks into the wooden chair, a deep sigh escaping his thin lips. I the Lt my head slightly.

"Captain?" I call.

Levi blankly stares at his wall. I can feel my body grow heavy. I feel my weight sink into the floor, what was this feeling? I didn't understand why I felt the need to comfort him. I stand and make my way over to where he is sitting.

My hand reaches for his shoulder, my fingers barely brushing the roughness of his uniform.

"Captain...?" I call again, my hand rests on his shoulder gently.

I lightly squeeze and Levi reaches for it.

"You've only been here a week and you're still clueless on who I am?" Levi spoke in a quiet tone.

The warmth of his hand made my gears turn. I didn't dare to move, afraid to have this moment slip away. This was the first time Levi had touched me, and his touch felt right.

"What do you mean?" I ask.

"I know everything about you. Isn't it part of your programming to know who I am? You know nothing about me. No one knows... do you know how that feels?" Levi choked on his words, his stomach sinking.

I lower my head, feeling useless. Levi takes my hand and stands from his seat.

"A2." He commands.

I feel myself twitch as I pull Levi into a hug. Our bodies are pulled together, the embrace makes my gears twist into knots and my chest ache.

Maybe Levi wasn't such a stern, heartless man that everyone sees him as. He was lonely. Am I the only one that sees this? I am now determined to unravel who he was. He is my owner, if I like it or not.

But if Levi just wanted a hug, why didn't he just ask?
