The air was messing her curly hair up as the slim-figured girl was sitting on the grass, holding her sketchbook and her favourite pen. The sun was shining that day, even if it was raining repeatedly for the past week. But she didn't mind, since she loved it.
She kept drawing lines, that eventually managed to form a female face with long hair. She didn't know exactly what she was drawing but sometimes, it felt like her hand was moving by itself, like it was creating on its own. And that was when she created her finest drawings. If she sat down and forced herself to draw, it just wouldn't happen most of the times.
She felt a gentle hand on her shoulder and she turned letting a silent gasp escape her lips as her sketchbook and pen fell on the grass.
"Lincoln! Would you stop doing that!" She screamed, as she saw her bestfriend's face lighting up with a huge smile as he laughed at her reaction.
"Only if you promise to use me as your next model for your portraits." He said with his soft voice.
Luna rolled her eyes.
"You can draw too. Draw your own self." She answered trying to seem serious when all she wanted to do was laugh.
"Why do you hate me so much Luna?" Lincoln said to her, joking for sure.
"I could never hate you Lin."She murmured and then mentioned "It's physically and emotionally impossible."
Lincoln laughed as it was probably what he wanted to hear and then lied back on the grass, putting his hands behind his head, a move that made his distinctive muscles move under his grey t-shirt.
Luna lied next to him and closed her eyes, keeping her sketchbook close to her heart. They both were on their school's campus, a place where they hang out during most of their free time between classes. Lincoln and Luna knew each other for a long time before they both went to arts school. Their love for drawing and their mutual appreciation for art in general was probably the reason they kept being best friends for most of their lives.
Now they were on their senior year of arts school and they were closer than they could ever be, before becoming something else.
"So here you are!" a girl's voice said, right above their heads.
Luna opened her eyes, squinting as the sun was blinding her. She hid it with her hand and saw that it was Octavia who spoke before, a freshman in their school and officially Lincoln's girlfriend.
"Hi Octavia." Lincoln said with his eyes nearly completely shut.
Octavia smiled at her boyfriend's husky voice and she leaned closer to him so she could kiss him.
Octavia's and Lincoln's lips touched gently as they exchanged a kiss while laughing.Luna smiled at the sight of her best friend. She didn't know Octavia that well and that's why at first she acted precautious of her but now she was much cooler. That girl made Luna's favourite person happy and that was enough for her.
It was at some point in her life when she felt some feelings towards Lincoln but they were fortunately gone before she did anything she would regret.
Luna looked at her watch, realizing that it was already twelve am, which ment that she needed to get back to her watercolour painting class if she wanted to avoid making her teacher go for one more time through his ten minute lecture about arriving late.
"I actually have to go. See you later!" She said to her two friends.
"See-mmhmm-you-mmmhmm-later Luna!" Lincoln responded, his lips still connected to Octavia's.
Luna smirked and then got up, carrying with her her pen and sketchbook, murmuring a song that she had heard in a commercial probably, some days ago.
