Chapter 6

I sneak out of my room, barely hearing what they're talking about. They're talking really quietly, maybe it isn't about the whole Mason thing. I begin to sneak down the stairs, there volume increases more and more. I can finally hear them. I guess I didn't miss the important part.

"So, honey how was school today?" He asked with his very deep and manly voice. She looks at the ground slightly.

"It was okay...Nothing really happened..." Nora trailed off. She shouldn't have done that. With Dad being the lawyer he is, he can crack anything out of us, but Nora can sometimes get away with it. Nora tries to direct the conversation again, "So, um...w-why did you call me d-down here again?" Nora spoke, stuttering in between her words.

Dad immediately responds, "I just wanna know how your day was. It was your first day of school after all." He crosses his arms and gets a menacing look on his face.

She grasps her stomach and manages to stutter out something, "L-Like I said, I-it was okay..." She trails of again. Damn, you could cut the tension in here with a knife.

"Are you sure nothing in particular happened?" My dad pressed.

"N-Nothing at all." She smiles. You could see that she is in pain. If I could see it, than Dad, definitely could too.

"If nothing happened. Than may I ask, why you're grasping your stomach?" His face grew more menacing.

"U-Umm...I-I..." She's stutters. She's sweating bullets! He definitely knows that something happened. I have to do something.

I finally walk downstairs and intervene, "Hey, Nora, can you help me find the bluetooth speaker? I been looking for it everywhere."

Nora's face brightens up at the sight of me, "Y-Ya sure." She begins to trudge to the stairs when Dad interrupts.

"Hold it! We're not done yet. Hey Roy, care to tell me what's going on?" My dad shouts.

I look over to Nora fear is in her eyes. She knows what Dad will do. I know what Dad will do, "Oh, I honestly don't know what you're talking about." I hope that sounded believable.

"You have to know something, you and Nora are really close, she pretty much tells you everything." Dad adds. Crap, he got me there. I really hope Nora can forgive for this next part.

I cringe and manage to say, "Maybe," I gulp, "She got her period?" Instead of the look I would've expected from Nora, anger and that she was going to kill me later, she her face showed that she was relieved and happy.

"Y-Ya Dad, I got my period. It was so unexpected, I was kinda scared at first. I felt my underwear get wet, so I went to the bathroom to check, I saw blood and some chunky stuff."(A/N Don't know if you females actually do get chunky stuff during your period...I think I heard it somewhere.) Nora said. Dad cringes.

"I don't wanna hear about that stuff." Dad looks down his face overflowing with disgust.

"Oh and the cramps are the worst part. It feels like I took a chainsaw to the vagina." She grasps her stomach again in pain.

I almost vomit. Nice job, Nora. Dad looks the same way, "Okay, we're done talking, go help your brother find the speaker."

Nora and I run up stairs, she was exploding with relief.
