It was a dark stormy night, like most nights in Seattle. Riley was on top of the needle (the tall building) looking around at the scenery.
Her thoughts dark and her heart heavy. No one was around.
Suddenly a purple lightning struck the building, making it shake. Riley gripped onto the railing around the circular room (bad idea). She started to shake as the lightning surged through her blood. Everything faded into black.
She awoke to a paramedic waking her. The man shook her and said something unclear as it always is. She responded with her hands.
'Am I alright?' And the man responded back with a notepad.
'Are you deaf?' She nodded and wrote on the pad.
'Since I was 2'
A few hours later in the hospital she was released into the arms of her ex. The only person who she knew who was alive.
Riley rolled her eyes at Lucas who had a cheeky smile plastered on his face.
Riley got into his car and they drove along to his apartment.
Once arriving she grabbed Lucas' arm; her legs felt weak and her head ached like crazy.
Lucas lifted her up and put her on his back and brought her into his living room. She lied on the couch and tucked her legs into her chest.
A bang on the door made Lucas jump but he opened the door to see his current girlfriend. Her dark brown hair bounced off her shoulders as she stepped in. Her outfit was very revealing but sophisticated. She waved at him before going into the living room. She screamed at the sight of Riley. The tattered clothed girl lying on the couch. Thinking she was dead, the girlfriend poked Riley's shoulder.
Riley jolted up like she figured something out. She screamed out loud making the whole house shake. Books fell out of the shelves, the glass table shattered and their hands gripped their ears.
I guess Carrie finally decided on a girl.
