*****PLEASE NOTE THAT THE MAIN CHARACTERS NAME IS MYKIE BUT IT IS IN FACT A GIRL.*****

"Miss Roberts?"

I am snapped out of my daze by Mr. Morris, my business management professor, for the second time this class.

"Miss Roberts, why are you not paying attention in my class?"

I look up at him and say, "I'm sorry, it wont happen again."

Mr. Morris tilts his head to the side slightly and says, "I believe that's what you said last time I caught you."

A look of timidity washes over my face as I say, "I'm sorry."

Mr. Morris furrows his brow for a moment but, much to my relief, moves on with the lecture. I don't know why I have been so out of it today, I just can't seem to focus on anything. Everybody starts to gather their things, which signals me that class must be over. I grab my bag, my notes, and my phone then start to walk to the door. Unfortunately Mr. Morris clears his throat and I make the mistake of looking back at him.

"Mykie, what is going on with you? Normally you are the first one to answer a question or speak up about your opinion on something..... But you were in a trance this whole class," he says.

I sense concern in his voice, which is odd considering he is usually a rather uptight, stale man.

"I'm just a little out of it today, but I will be better by next class I promise."

Mr. Morris nods so I turn back around and continue my walk out of the class. When I get outside the sun hits my face and I feel a sense of relief. 'I'm just tired. I will get some sleep then be good for my date tonight,' I think to myself. My earbuds go in and I start my short walk back to my apartment.

                                                 ******************************

When I arrive, my roommate is struggling with the lock like always. I reach around her, insert my key into the lock, and open the door with ease. She grumbles then pushes past me and plops down on the couch. I roll my eyes and say, "Nice to see you too sunshine."

She lets out a sigh and says, "I'm sorry, I just had a really hard day."

"Do you need to talk about it?" I say, hoping for a no because the last thing I need right now is for her to tell me about how her boss should, "Totally leave his wife because he obviously has feelings for Karen in accounting."

I love Ashley (my roommate) but I am convinced that gossiping is her god given talent. "No, i'm ok. I just want some alone time," Ashley says.

I smile, nod, then walk to my room. I lay down on my bed then put back in my earbuds. Motionless in White, 'Death March' is playing on full blast. I nod my head to the beat as I mess around on Twitter and Instagram while thinking about the concert I went to last summer. I was pretty close to the front and got to meet the band afterwards.  Now I know what you want to hear, "Oh I looked into their eyes and they all suddenly fell in LOVE with me." No, that isn't what happened. I walked down the line of members and calmly said hi to each one. I was nervous the whole time, especially when I got to Ricky because he's my favorite. I know what you're thinking, "Everybody's favorite is Ricky cause he's the pretty boy." I swear that isn't why he's my favorite. He is my favorite because we have a lot of things in common, but yes he is very attractive which is a plus.

So as I was saying, I was extra nervous when I got to him. He just looks so nice in every picture I've seen him in and it was so cool to confirm that he looks like that in person, but better. When I was next to him I saw that he had a few little bumps on his face and his body paint had been put on a little streaky. I liked seeing that he had little imperfections like everybody else. I think about that moment a lot, it always seems to bring a smile to my face.
