My phone rang as I lay in bed, thinking about my past summer. Who could be calling me at this time? I looked at my iPhone and it read Incoming Call From Christina Cimorelli. Christina? Did this mean she'd left the house already?
"Hello?" I answered after about five rings.
"Lauren, finally! Did you just get up?" Christina asked. I could hear her breathing really heavily as if she had just gone on a five mile marathon.
"Yeah, I just got up. Why, what's wrong? And where are you?"
"I've just been taken by someone. In other words, I've just been kidnapped". What? WHAT?! OH MY GOD!
"OH MY GOSH, CHRISTINA! Oh my god, what do I do? Are you okay? I mean, like w-"
"NO, GIVE ME MY PHONE BACK!" I could hear Christina say in the background. Someone had just taken her phone as well.
"Now listen to me very carefully, young lady. We know exactly where you live and we've already locked you inside the house so you can't leave. We've also managed to do something to your windows so you can't get out. We're coming for you. With a gun. One of you sisters will die. Prepare yourselves". I couldn't believe this was happening to us right now. My palms were sweating with fear and I already knew I was also going to be kidnapped and possibly even shot. This was serious.
Tears rolled down my pale cheeks, one by one. Then I heard Christina say something in the background about listening to the guy and I started sobbing.
"Lauren?" Dani was also awake now and wondering why on Earth I was crying.
"They've taken Christina. Now they're coming for us," I said, barely managing to get out the word "us" before I began sobbing uncontrollably.
"Oh"
I started seeing tears roll down Dani's cheeks as well as she got up and tried opening the windows. No such luck. The kidnappers really did do something to our window so we couldn't get out. I had to get the word out to Katherine and Amy as well. I tried opening the door but, to my misery, it won't budge. We were also locked in our own bedroom.
"AMYYYY! KATHERINEEEE!" I screamed.
"WHAT?! GET BACK TO SLEEP!!" I heard Amy shout out. Thank goodness they were awake.
"AMY, CHRISTINA HAS JUST BEEN KIDNAPPED. AMY, LISTEN TO ME BECAUSE I'M BEING ONE-HUNDRED PERCENT SERIOUS. THEY'RE COMING FOR US, NOW!"
No reply came back from Amy. I waited for a while and then I saw the door of my room begin to open. Oh no. When did the guys come in our house? I wondered.
"William, take them"
Oh, my god. This was seriously happening.
"I'll just shoot them. It'll make it easier for us. There isn't much room in the van"
"Yeah, okay, you do that then"
SHOOT US?! My heart started beating so fast, I was pretty sure the kidnappers could hear it. I saw him taking out the gun from his pocket, very slowly. I looked at Dani. She was frozen in fear. I looked back at the kidnapper and tried swallowing, but it was so hard because my throat was so tight. I didn't know what to expect. I prepared myself by holding my breath. I just wanted to die painlessly.
"Oh, just shoot the damn girls already!"
"Which one do I go for first?"
"The left one," he said, meaning Dani. No, I did not want to see this. Why couldn't he just finish me off first? I couldn't even look at Dani. BOOM! The sound nearly burst my ears as it was so loud. She was gone. I closed my eyes and let the tears roll down my cheeks as I realised Dani was no more.
