Chapter 11: The Wedding Planner & Legends!
"Never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake." -Napoleon Bonaparte
"What the hell is that?" I questioned at my mother.
She had slammed a big ass binder over the kitchen counter, covering my current book. The thing was smothered in pink, nasty light baby pink. Inside were sticky notes, a collection of papers from different magazine articles were glued accordingly to page. Fabrics were laid across some photos. On the side was a drawing of tables and names attached to chairs. "This, my daughter is your haven," she said smoothing the book out.
"Come again?" I said raising my eyebrow.
"It's your wedding book!" She squealed excitingly,"-and here is you wedding planner." She motioned over to a woman who was in her mid-forties. Who wore a pink business suit that sickly matched her pink three inch heels. Her tan legs, which probably reached up to my hip, gave a grandeur look that continued upward toward two mountains of watermelons. Above the cottony candy colored top, a tan neck protruded delicately against a row of pearls. An immodest amount of blood red shaded her lips, that slightly touched a small round mole at the riight corner.
It was irrefutable to say, she had recently ungone plastic surgey, when her face was to far pulled back, for a woman her age. I was amazed to find a pair of smoky grey eyes, that were surrounded in black eyeshadow. "Mrs. Pierce here is one of the top wedding planners in the country. I kindly asked if she would do the honors of planning your wedding." She clapped her hand together anxious to get started.
"Oh Sarahi dear, It's only right that I help plan for this extravagant wedding," Mrs. Pierce short brown hair bounced as she walked over.
"Thank you Molly. You don't know how much it means to me." My mother said grabbing her hand. Mrs. Pierce only tightened the grip and looked at my mother. "It's my pleasure to know you have in trusted me to completing the task of making your daughter's dreams come true." Ha, my dreams! You're a funny old eraser!
"I know it's so romantic. I remembered when I got married. Oh God, was that a whirled wind. There was so much to do and I couldn't do it on my own—"
I got up from my sea and put my plate in the sink. They were still chatting away when I left. My previous book had been honorably sacrificed, in the escape, but the library was filled to the brim with diversity of assorted books, ranging from old to new, from Latin to Japanese; there was a mass variety of hidden jewels. I picked out a book from one of the selves and exited the room.
Summer was a cruel mistress when her hatred reign down on us, but in the past few days she had changed mood. Her light kisses were noticed as the cool breeze of the wind called me toward the courtyard. There was a small table toward the right side of the Encelia bushes. My mind called for peace as I dusted the dirt off the chair, prepared to open my book. Only then did I paused to hear light clicking coming from the other side of the encelia bush. I choose to ignore sound only for a fraction of a second, as it continued to tick away at my brain. I bet it's one of those damn birds! Those damn things. I will kill them if it's the last thing I do.
The book slightly crinkled in my hand, as it wrecked havoc on the spine.
tick-click-tick-click.
Smothered with irritation, my hands closed the book and I threw it against the bushes.
It had stopped. A triumphant grin spread across my face. Bwahhhh I win you foul birds! Victory was short lived as the book came flying back, to hit me square in the face. Damn it all!
