The End of the Month.

An adaption of Lewis Carroll's the Jabberwocky

'twas Saturday and the salesmen
Did moan and groan in the Roseland stores
All quiet were the racks and aisles
And the managers wary

'Beware the teenage girls my men!
The hair that whisks, pink claws that scratch!
Beware the college girls, and shun
The mutton dressed as Lamb!

He took his Starbucks cup in hand;
Long time the made-up foes he sought
So rested he, by the FNB
And stood awhile in thought

And, as in perplexed thought he stood
The waves of girls, with eyes aflame
Came storming through the widespread halls,
And screeching, no not tame!

One, two! One, two! And through and through
The Starbucks cup went whoosh and splat!
He left them broke, and with their totes
He went swaggering back.

'And hast thou slain the waves of girls?
Come to my arms my employee!
Of End of Month! Hoorah! Hooray!'
He chortled in his money.

'twas Saturday and the salesmen
Did moan and groan in the Rosebank stores
All messy were the racks and aisles
And the managers weary.
